I am going to be replacing my front and rear windshield seal in my 68 coupe. I have seen a few older muscle cars were they just glued the glass in like they do on modern cars. Is this possible for my car or do I need to use the seals.

2+2GT--offhand do you know the Part # of the glass bedding (3M?) for the rubber seals shown?

Just did my first glass install on my 67, TOO easy, just a little messy, but like they said, nearly 2 tubes of sealant, you can probably buy 3 and get both glasses in if you don't waste too much. Just have a friend, some 1/4 nylon rope, and some soapy water in a spray bottle, pops right in. Be prepared to get messy, as much as i tried to be careful I got it all over the glass, but the razor blade took care of that.

when you guys talk about the bedding/glazing compound what kinda tubes are you referring to cuz when I did my front I bought 2 tubes and it was way to much. Mine came in large tubes for a caulk gun. Are you guys talking about smaller squeeze tubes?
Im talking 2 big calk gun tubes. Took one and a half for my front glass. I ran a bead inside the gasket before I put it around the glass, then installed the glass, then a thick bead of it around the outside of the gasket between the body and windshield. Almost filled up the whole gap there. This is what is recommended if you DONT put sealant under the gasket between it and the body, but that takes a special sealant gun that usually only a windshield shop will have.
No, we mean the big 10oz tubes. I use about 1 1/2 - 2 tubes per glass.
I once re-installed the front and rear glass in a 66 coupe, had been done twice by supposedly professional glass shops. They got there while I was snapping the last of the mouldings on, and watched me clean the excess sealer off, mostly my fingerprints, from the glass and mouldings. When I started to walk away, the woman asked if I was "going to take it outside and test it with a hose". I said, "no, because it doesn't leak."

We actually have a Flush Mount Glass kit coming out for the 64-70 Mustang fastbacks and coupes.. Hopefully they will be coming out in the late spring and we are currently taking names for a waiting list.. Below are some pictures of our 1st gen Camaro kits, the Mustang kits will have similar style..

The rear glass comes in smoked options along with clear, and also comes with a nice rounded edge that allows it to be installed with out weatherstrip. The windshields come with an intergrated antenna built in the tint band, so it is complete hidden from sight, and will allow the elimination of the fender mast antenna...
