I think its because of what material it's made out of, but I could be wrong. Either CAI would work, it's just that most aftermarket CAI's look a little better under the hood then the Ford Racing one. AM has pretty good deals on intakes and tuners though.

I have a JLT on my car, I think it's a good intake. I think most of them out there are just as good though.

I guess if your OEM CAI broke, then it's kinda on you to decide if you want to remain "stock" with the FRPP one for the sake of your Bullitt's notoriety, or just go all out and get a Steeda one. Personally, I say go Steeda with a tune and if you ever go to make a move on your car, you can source out an OEM one so it looks untouched. When it comes to special edition Mustangs, lots of people say don't mess with them. I say mess away, just hold on to the OEM parts so you can go back to stock for collector purposes.

I am looking to tune my bullitt becuse I want to get a c&l racer intake. Is it possible to get a tune on a bullitt do to the program that determines what ocatne gass we use? Will it mess with the car? What is the best tuner out there for a reasonable price? Also what will happen if I put a intake that a requires tune and i dont get a tune? What dose it mean when the engine runs to lean?

If you don't want to buy a tuner, get an AIRAID CAI. I've had one, and they are really good. Airaids don't require a tune, but I had bought the SCT X3 from Brenspeed, and it really woke mine up!

Just curious, if your car came with a FR CAI, doesn't already have a tune on it?

That FRPP tune probably wouldn't match up with a C+L. I prefer an SCT tuner, and you can get them used here on the classifieds. Once you tune, you are locked into whatever octane gas the tune is set up for, but you can change it and some tuners will give you a set of 3 tunes for the common octanes available. Personally I say throw a 93 octane tune at it that will make the most power and call it a day. Even $.10 more per gallon at the pump =$1.50 more for a fill up over regular gas, and you might as well spend that for every last smidge of HP if you're going to drop what might be $400 or so on a CAI, tune, tuning, etc...

You have two options here. Either buy another stock intake for your car and that would be the Ford Racing CAI and call it a day.

Or get a CAI/tuner combo from AM. You can have your car tuned for any octane you want, the higher the octane the more power you will put out.

Your car comes with a CAI and has been re-tuned from the factory, so you will not notice as much difference as someone with a GT. I think there is still some power to be had from a different tune though.

So it just depends on how much you want to spend. You can always buy the factory CAI now and then later on get a tuner.

Where do you even find 93 octane? I've never seen it at any of the gas stations in Arizona. All they have is 87, 89 and 91. I'm thinking that I might be able to find it near Phoenix International Raceway or something like that but I'm not about to drive to the other side of town for a tank of gas.
