Leather Seat compatibility

All, I have an 86 Convertible... I would like to put leather in it. What seats (front and rear) will fit in this car?

If I found a set from a newer model, what would it take to get them in the 86?

We here at TMI Products actually manufacture the stock replacement seats for your car and we can do it in leather Shoot me a PM if you'd like to see any samples. Also, depending on which frames you have, you're able to upgrade standard low back seats into GT seats by simply adding GT foam & Upholstery... just a thought.

Front seats from a 79-04 are interchangeable, but the back seats on verts pose a more difficult swap. I don't know if anyone has swapped over a newer vert rear seat into a fox. I've been meaning to get the measurements and figure out if the conversion can reasonably be done.

I was able to make the front and rear seats from a newer vert work in my 89.

IMO either buy new repo's or 99-04 leather front and rear and have someone get the rear covers to fit your current rear seats.

87-98 leather seats will be very cracked looking and worn by now. the 94-98 leather always looks really chitty
