2011 Mustang Brake Upgrades

I need to upgrade my brakes on account of bad drivers in the area. I was wondering whats the best bang for my buck. Whether the four or six piston calipers are better, and what brand to go with. I am currently looking at roush, brembo, or baer.

All three of those brands are good, but they will be expensive. A cheaper alternative would be to change out your pads, rotors, fluids, and install SS lines. If you do have the big $$, then go for one of those kits. From what Ive seen, most of those kits are 4 pistons. You could also look out for someone with a 2011 with the Brembos or a Gt500 who upgraded their brakes and selling their old brake system. Dont forget to upgrade the rear brakes too

How does other driver's driving habits require you to upgrade your brakes? I'm confused. If you're the better driver, you just avoid them. Pay attention, don't tailgate, etc.

I put 65K miles on my '07....with...cough...the original brakes. I drive around the Detroit area. Pretty crazy, I know.

Not sure how Brembo's/Roush/Baer/AP/Wilwood brakes are going to make you a better driver.

That said...I agree with the other poster. Just get some fresh blank rotors, smooth or slotted. Get some Hawk pads or similar, braided stainless lines, and good brake fluid. Your braking power will be incredible.

Where do you drive? You need a supercharger to get away not brakes to stop so they can hit you!!!!

I have the Brembo Package and the rears look stock to me....what do we
do to the rears to increase their performance? Add in EBC track pads (yellow)
which are sitting on the work bench or the Hawk pads? What are your thoughts?

The rear only accounts for 15-20ish% of your stopping power, so nothing you do back there is going to be all that noticeable. I put Hawk HPS pads on my '01 GT w/ OEM Cobra kit (stock GT rears) and honestly, I don't like the initial bite from the pads. You really have to press the pedal down hard for it to grab. OEM pads are a nice balance of initial bite, stopping power, and longevity.

If anything, I'd upgrade the hoses and brake fluid.

Ive researched this for awhile now..here's what Im getting, but Im as much about looks as performance, so I will be putting the 6-caliper, 14" drilled/slotted combo from Baer. They are their new 6p system. IT runs about $1900 for both fronts. Then Im getting their (Eradispeed) 14" rear rotors with upgraded pads.

Having said that, I dont think for the price, you can beat the system by Brembo listed above. I just like the drilled rotors and caliper color choice with the baers. I wont be doing much racing, if any at all, so I dont mind the drilled rotors.

Brembo

Man am I glad I ordered my 14" Brembos from the factory. It was a great deal for $1600 bucks, brakes front and rear, Tower brace and 19" wheels. I believe the traction control and stability control is also modified for the Brembos.

I really like the way the rotor fills the wheel.
