throttle body

I've got a Stack Racing 75 mm TB. Had it on for nearly 2 years now. Absolutely 0 issues with it.

That being said, unless you were getting a good deal on it, I'd probably spring for the BBK 78 mm throttle intake or the Trick Flow TB/plenum combo. By the time you factor in a plenum, those are cheaper.

FWIW, I got my Stack TB for $80 a while back when it was on sale at AM.

Wouldn't a 78mm be overkill on an NA stock heads/cams 2V and actually hurt performance?

Overkill? Yes, definitely.

Hurt performance? I can't see how. The intake velocity (which helps with low end torque) is determined by the head and cam characteristics. Yes, the velocity would be slower in the intake tube, but since we aren't dealing with the heads or cams, I can't see how it would affect anything.

And besides, have you ever looked at 5 mm? Especially when we are talking a diameter? 2.5 mm around the outside (which is the difference between 70 and 75 mm) is TINY.

When I mentioned hurting performance, I should have been more specific and indicated that it would hurt LOW END performance. From the reviews that I've read, people are saying that they experienced a noticeable loss of low end grunt. Sure you might see a gain in peak HP with it, but what good does that do when it's only in a 1500 RPM window above 4K (not saying that's the case, just speaking hypothetically)?

I put a BBK 78mm tb/plenum on mine. I couldnt tell a bit of difference down low. But once it hit about 4,000rpm, it FELT like it seemed to pull a little hardner. Nothing crazy, but I did notice a difference.

In your opinion, how would your BBK piece compare against a 75mm TB and Accufab/C&L plenum performance-wise?
