I had recently purchased a set of ford racing 4:10s for my 04 5spd everyone has told me not to fear the gear but i am a half a sec slower from my factory gears ??? my question is where should i be shifting i used to shift at 6gs but i fear thats way too much now any info and insite would be helpful, i know the car is capable of 13.8s with factory gears any ideas ?

I went through the same thing, as have most of us. From my experience racing my Mach 1 w/ 4.10s shiftpoints are lower w/ steeper gears by about 300 rpm and they decrease as you go through the gears also by about 300 rpm. They are lower because the gears are closer together. Precise shiftpoints w/ a particular rear end gear depend on the engine's power level, it's powerband and transmission gearing. I don't know your mods but I'd say try 5700, 5500, 5200 and see how that works. Set aside alot of trial-and-error passes to get it down.
