i have a 67 coupe with a 302 and and im trying to convert it to power steering so i can teach my wife how to drive a stick shift i got the car from my dad and want to keep it as stock as i can but she want to drive it and shes not stong enoughfor the assist alone, but im working on a budget so if i could get some insight on what i should pick up from a junk yard or something it would be a lot of help

Well i found the bill but not the specs. On a side note, my ps pump locked up this weekend.

Bummer. Got mine installed yesterday minus the engine, trans and steering pump of coarse. I'm going to be using a fox body pump. Sorry to hear about yours. Hopefully I will be running mine in the next couple months. So much to do with so little time...

I run a KRC steering pump for my borgeson box. The flow and the pressure is changeable between 1200 psi - 1450 psi and 1.05 gpm - 3.17 gpm. I also run a hydroboost
brake booster so i need more flow and pressure that my stock steering pump can hold. I use a pressure relive valve for 1200 psi and a flow valve for 2.11 gpm.
I called borgeson for the recommend pressure. They said 1000-1200 psi.
My steering is stiffer than original at hiher speed and soft like original in the parking lot.

i am going to try the borgeson pump on my 69 as well ,i have driven a 66 with a rack
and didnt realy like it it was to darty for me, like it was to fast . i like to feel the road
but not have the car shoot off to the side with the lightest touch of the wheel, havnt
driven one with the borgeson yet but i have been hearing good things about it, its
only money right?

This can't be right? If I loosen either end and try to push the joint closed, the elasticity of the disc just pushes them apart again and pops the steering wheel out of the column. Should there be a bearing at the bottom of the column to keep the shaft from pulling out? This is a project car a previous mechanic worked on and no longer works there, and all manuals are gone. This 66 has been here for years and I'm now finishing it up. So I'm kinda lost. Thanks.
