Just bought an 89LX that has an old Paxton SN93 setup on it. I was wondering if a there is any "economical" newer supercharger (like a novi 100o or vortech) that can use the existing SN93 brackets. I don't want to spend alot of money (I see a used NOVI 1000 for $600 on ebay right now) but don't think I want to keep this SN93 since their reliability seems not to be the greatest and I don't feel like investing in an oil cooler and impeller just to get a hot 8 pounds of boost. I just want to play around with a supercharger until I can complete my turbo setup.

I think a cal to Vortech/Paxton is in order. But even if the SN/93 bracket won't fit the Novi 1000 you can always just try to find a used bracket that will fit. I see them all the time on Craigslist and Ebay.

I ended up buying the Novi 1000 that I saw last night. Had the money, didn't think the price was that bad, and figured I could always re-sell it if it wouldn't work. Plus a couple stiff drinks made that purchase a lot easier.....

I'm the reverse of a lot of mustang guys, I know turbo's very well but haven't messed with a supercharger setup before. Guess there's only one way to learn....

How much boost were you getting from your sn93? I'm getting only 3lbs on mine. Am I short on my setup?

I'm getting about 6-7 pounds out of my setup, which is on a basic GT-40 intake setup with a set of gt40 iron heads and an e-cam. It's pretty much maxed out at this point.
