Wile Coyote's stunt double
while digging through my mustang goodies/junk. i came across this gizzmo.
now i know what it is ,i just wanted to see if anyone else does. i will give you a hint. it mounts under the dash on the right side of the stearing column and it was a real gass to use. it was made by rotunda and was a ford accessory. it was actualy installed in a 66 gt coupe i bought several years ago and it worked.

Is it a manual choke switch ?

Cruise control?

:hail2:and we have a winner! thats right its a speed control or cruise control. the white plastic thing in the middle is two parts , like a big plastic screw. when you turn the knob it lengthens or shortens, depending on the direction you turn it.setting how far the shaft will pull out and opening the butterflies on the carborator. there is one cable that is missing. the leaver on the right had a cable that went to the brake pedal.the rod works off friction ,when you push the brake it released the rod and shut off. it actualy worked ,but it was a pain in the rear to set and every time you touched the brakes you had to pull the knob back out to re activate. a friend of mine has two unused still in the boxes .

the car i bought was a 66 gt coupe .it belonged to a ford rep. that drove from santa maria calif to mexico ford dealerships it was fully loaded. it had a trunk rack ,remote trunk release, console, air, rally pack ,it had it all .it realy surprised me when i figured out what it did. i showed it to a friend of mine and he showed me 2 of them still in the boxes. probably not very many of the left floating around. i think i will haing it on my wall in my shop .just thought it was interesting and wanted to show everyone.
