I Gotta A Quoestion. 3.8l To 3.8l Swap

I'm sure it's been done but I doubt it's very documented. In all reality it's just like a 5.0 swap. Get the engine/trans, all the wiring and ecu unless you plan on putting a carb on it.

I have a 83 Capri with a 3.8L c4 trans. I wanna swap in a 00-04 3.8L and automatic. Has this been done and where can I find info?

Thanks

If you are dead set on using a v6, the newer ones make 300hp and get 30 mpg hwy. I wouldn't bother with an 00-04. Just my .02

A FI 3.8 swap will cost just as much as a v8 swap. Following the main feeling from multiple threads in this site lately the coyote swap is quickly becoming more affordable and offers better performance and economy than a traditional pushrod.
Done on the cheap I would figure it could be done for 12k.
A 5.0/3.8 swap will run you probably in the neighborhood of 4-5k..maybe less if you get a good deal on a wrecked car.

Not that I would go this route because I had some bad experiences with a 3.8 Windstar, but salvage yards seem to be full of 3.8 donors, Mustangs, TBirds, etc. Should be easy to find a compete donor setup.
