How do you resolve a bad New TKO500(shifting 2nd to 3rd...)

So it's been about 2,000 miles I definately never got on the new tranny clutch setup for the first 1,500 and I found it funny I couldn't rev the cobra out in 2nd and nail 3rd beyond 6,000 rpms. I bet my buddy with a supercharged cobra that he couldn't hit 3rd and sure enough he couldn't...

Bad throw out bearing installed with new TKO and Clutch - advice on potential damage?

So I posted on here a few weeks back about how the new TKO and clutch setup was squealing. Well as we all thought it's definately a bad throw out bearing. We took the car back to the mustang shop and they put the car on a rack to show us where the problem was - one of the teeth was bent I...

Radiator light on, mechanic said could be a bad harness coming from reservoir?

So as stated with the crossover thread, my local shop was able to repair the crossover pipe and it seems to be functioning properly, the only problem is when I pulled out of the shop the radiator light came on. I went back and the tech that worked on it covered his ass nicely and said "I just...

Shop says they can't locate a crossover pipe for 98 cobra?

So my coolant stopped flowing to my engine on Thursday, so I brought it to the local all in one shop (not mustang or engine shop) and they said that my crossover pipe transfering coolant to the head was rotted out and that was the source of my leak and therefore lack of coolant flow. I told...

Got TKO installed, new clutch, but squeaking noise - is it throw out bearing? SO I just shelled out $3,600 to put a new TKO in my 98 cobra, I didn't cut any corners and I will put the invoice at the bottom of the post so you can see what I purchased. I had the transmission, clutch assembly...

Blew 3rd and 4th gear in 98 Cobra

Out for a spin with a lady friend Friday night and finally lost 3rd and 4th gear. This happened in my old 96GT (lost same two gears) and I ended up throwing a TKO in, but sold it months later:bang: I got a lot of work done so I think it would be wise to just suck it up and put in a Bad A$$...

MY CAR LEAKED ABOUT A LITRE OF ANTIFREEZE LAST NIGHT, NEED HELP

So I had been out for a nice sunday drive (went o Andretti's and had a great time and a couple beers :) and turned some quick lap times. I drove back to my girlfriends house and parked the car on level ground(had just been driving it for about 20 mins, didn't really "goose" it either = "SUNDAY...

Do I have to do anything to activate the "lifetime" warranty on Tokico's shock/struts

I purchased them from a dealer off ebay and I didn't see any type or warranty card in the packaging, so I am not sure if sheerly owning them constitutes the warranty? I would assume I would have to fill out some sort of proof of purchase or at least a warranty card verifying the new purchase...

Question's about buying new SALEEN body kit - price, paint, quality, install, etc.

I need to repaint my front cobra bumper and my hood has chips and spiderwebbing so I was considering picking up a real Saleen body kit and getting it professionally painted and installed. I already have the rims and I think it would be a great addition to the car. I have owned a Saleen kit...

I screwed up and bought a "cheap" tach but I am not sure if it's my fault...

I hooked up this "Type R" http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&sspagename=ADME%3AL%3ARTQ%3AUS%3A1&viewitem=&item=180079236364 . It sounded like a GREAT deal, but I am worried it's not compatible with cobra's or mustangs in general. I asked the seller specifically if it...

Are installing Tokico 5-Way Adjustables any different from stock shock/strut install?

My friend and I will install these Tonight or some time this weekend. We have taken off the stock shocks when we did the gear install and reinstalled - so we got that covered because it's not too complicated. I just want to know if there are any differences with the adjustables as far as...

Is this the best way to install a tachometer on a 1998 Cobra?

My friend and I are going to hook up tach's on our Cobra's this weekend - his a 96, mine a 98. These are the instructions I got for 96-98 Cobra's. Is this the easiest and most accurate way? I know the factory tach is off so I want to make sure going through the instrument panel is the best...

Installed 4:30's, how do I calibrate my speedo with several influential mods?

Finally got the car back to 100%! The P1506 error code was none of the above as far as solutions. I replaced the PCV valve(didn't help) and was going to replace the IAC when my buddy came up with the genious idea of switching his IAC from his 96 Cobra(which has no problems) to my car and both...

Check engine code: p1506(Idle Air Control Overspeed Error what is this, how do I fix?

Autozone pulled this code. They couldn't tell me how to fix it because they said they can't really diagnose codes above 1000 - "manufacture specific codes" is how the guy put it - ironically he previously owned a cobra until he raced an under cover camaro and got clocked going 120mph...

Alright, so the day sucked at work, but I was looking forward to tearing up some **** with the cobra... I did a little playing around and the :bang: check engine light came on and I am like F$*% I thought I just paid a lot of money for you to go away!!! I am praying its just a bad O2 sensor...

Completed multiple mods and have a weird idle problem...

I have a built 98 cobra, 5 speed, forged internals, heads and intake already installed naturally aspirated and functioning properly prior to the below modifications. I recently added 4:30 gears, Aluminum Driveshaft, Cold Air Intake, took the upper and lower intake manifolds off to clean the...

Need help installing 4:30 gear on a 98 cobra

I'll be totally honest, I am not a "gear head" I had 3 of my buddies over to replace the 410 gears with 430's. My friend, who seems to know the most about installing gears admits he "should have" paid a little more attention to the setup when he removed it - meaning we are having trouble...

Got half my engine apart, Question about the IMRC!!!

I posted in recent thread that my check engine light was turning on because of my IMRC, the advice I got was to clean it and we did both of them, but what I am wondering is does the imrc box itself necessarily have to be replaced to fix the problem(the small box connected to the lower intake)...
