    Aftermarket gauge cluster

Anyone using this guage cluster? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1965-1966-Mustang-instrument-bezel-with-gauges_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ33675QQihZ014QQitemZ330202961455#ebayphotohosting Someone pointed this out a year ago when it was $300. Now it's $500 with shipping. Opinions? Does...

    Was it the brake fluid?

I did the full cobra brake swap (front and back) onto my 66 using the 03 m/c. It had great pedal feel and pressure. I swapped the rear factory lines for a set of s/s braided lines and changed the brake fluid to synthetic. Now the pedal is very stiff. Not unusable but, stiffer than I'd like...

    My first yoke change.

I've owned this car for 19 years and never changed a yoke on it or anything else for that matter. I'm assuming I can pull the old yoke of the 9" with a puller. No problems there. When I put the new yoke on, can I just blast the nut tight with an impact or is there something more...

    Bilstein Shocks

Anyone using them? I kinda kick myself in the ars. I bought the IAS' last year. I didn't know that Bilsteins were an option and they are only a few bucks more.:bang: Looking into new leaf springs and the sales guy at Maiers pushed them pretty hard. Sayes they are the best thing on the...

    Widening a wheel.

Anyone have an alum. rim widened? I wanted to have more than 4.75 bs on the rear rims of my stang but no luck. That's the only bs they come in. So, I'm tight on the fender and have a full 1" from the spring to the tire. Maybe add 1/2" to the back and take a little heat off the front side...

Leaf Springs and HP.... What rate?

As soon as the front susp. was done last year, both leaf springs went flat. Right in the middle of the Woodward Dream Cruise no less. I found a pair of stockers in town and changed them in the hotel parking lot. Now, after some research and a small budget, I'm staying with leaf...

    Why does it die?

When I make a hard stop the motor chokes and after a couple of good pedal pumps, the motor cleans out. To me it seems like it is flooding out. My first thought was the float bowls were set to high. After checking them, they are set correctly. Any suggestions? Biggs (holley)650dp on a 302.

    Recommend some better brake pads?

I did the cobra brake swap onto my 66. They came with factory pads that don't quite create enough friction for me with a manual pedal. This is a street car that will see some autoxing. I was looking at hawk pads but had to choose between superior braking and dust, noice, vibration and rotor...

    Recentering a rearend?

I'm running a set of 255 45 17's on the back of my 66 with 4.75 of backspacing. The driver side Q/P was replaced at some time and now has less tolerance than the passenger side. The tire rubs the driver side but, the pass. side has plenty of room, over 1" of clearance. This got me to...

Cobra master cylinder question for mdjay and others.

Mdjay, I know you are not running the cobra brakes, but I'm looking to use the JMC MC and have heard you have extreme pedal effort. What size bore MC did you buy? I talked to JMC today and they will build me one with any bore I want no extra charge. I know the use of an 84 svo MC with a...

    Brake residual pressure valve

I'm doing a 4 wheel disk brake kit using all cobra brakes with a manual MC on a 66 mustang. Do I need a residual valve in the rear line and if so what size?

    Sway bar clearance

I bought a 1 1/8" sway bar from Mustang's Plus and started to put it on today. I've still got everything loosely mounted and noticed that the bar doesn't line up with the notches in the frame where the factoy bar was. The new one sits back about an 1" further and hits the frame. I don't have...

    What size break line?

I'm using cobra front disks and cobra rear disks on my 66. I need to replace the break lines. Are stock sized break lines large enough?

A sway bar weighs how much?

I haven't had a sway bar on my car in more than 10 years. I just redid the front suspension and have been waiting on a back ordered sway bar. It came in yesterday and the box states a 19 lbs shipping weight with the mounts and end links. It is a 1 1/8" sway bar and when put on the scale is 16...

    Opinions on traction devices.

I just redid my suspension on the mustang. I went from a full on drag car to a aggresive street car/mild track car. I removed the lakewood traction bars and I now have some mild wheel hop. I'd like to skip the under rides. I've read that at least one of you is using slide a links. What other...

    How long do I wait?

I ordered some parts from one of the mustang suppliers and they back ordered a swaybar on me. I was told that they were expected "any day now". Any day now has turned into somthing like 3 weeks. I called again yesterday and got told again "any day now". Even if it came in today it would be at...

    Should I replace the spindles?

I'm replacing just about everything on the front susp. I'm using Opentracker's UCA and roller spring perch, Global West Lowers, progresive coils and Street or Track strut rods. Should I be buying a heavy duty spinde or is the stocker OK?

    Which Edelbrock shock?

I'm going to run a progressive spring from pro-motorsports with an opentracker UCA and roller perch in my 66 mustang. I've lightened the front end, doing everything but fiberglass. I'm trying to build a mild track/aggresive street car and need opinions on which Edelbrock IAS shock to use...

    9" Advice.

I bought the 9" in my mustang from a swap meet. It's out of a 57 country squire and is bone stock other than a 28 spline detroit locker. It's been rebuilt but I stated to get a howling noice out of it and swapped the gears thinking it was gear noise. The gears weren't the problem, the carrier...

Please, don't get mad for asking...

....but this is a another tire fitment question on a 66. It looks like I'm going to use a 17x8 in the front with 4.75" bs. Accourding to the chart and you guys, a 235 is a hit or miss as far as tire rubbing. Not a problem. I'm ok with rolling a front fender. I'm going to really lower the car...
