    Transmission removal with longtubes

Hello, New S197 owner (torch 06 gt 5spd 3:55s premium). I've actually put shorties on a few of these before but I plan on doing a set of LTs on mine. Previously coming from a 4v Cobra; you have to remove one of the headers to remove the transmission thanks to the one piece bell housing with...

For those of you that switched from 3.55 to 3.73 -- Was it worth it?

All I can say is base it around your final outcome. Info based on basically full weight sn95 w/ 5spd with 1/4 mile in-mind. 1/8th only go BIGGER!! I was stock with 2:73s - obviously sucked lol I was h/c/i @ 300rwhp with 2:73s - still sucked, way too little gear for the power I was h/c/i...

    H&R's with 275/40/18s

Mine rub a little but only at full lock/parking etc with the 275s, I'd likely go 265s or modify the splashpanels next go round.

First Mods Of the Year Done. 4.10's Fox TB Swap

You guys really need to spend the $ on a decent radiator. 4:10s were alot of fun n/a but it sucked on the highway. Power-adder and 3:55s are where it's at imo even with my 3:73s. Wait till you get to play on a dry day. It's super fun as 1st turns into nothing and 2nd gear will be the new 1st...

    Catastrophic Head Gasket Failure

Just curious but I was thinking as I guess I didn't really think of it at the time; but with an o-ringed head those are machined for a non crushed wire style are they not? Or is that usually done with the block?

    Catastrophic Head Gasket Failure

You can still run a decent gasket with a pre crushed wire ring and so forth. Don't quote me as I'm spitballing the part # but I think its the felpro 1101-2's I'm running which are much nicer than the stockers.

What heads for a supercharged 331

The AFRs always seem to do the best in any sort of comparision and have excellent low lift #s. The trickflows have a unique valve angle design that allows for larger valves, which is nice; but it also limits you on piston choices aswell once you grow with them. Not to say they aren't decent but...

    Catastrophic Head Gasket Failure

I had one fail end of last season...sucks but whatever. A few hrs and a $100 later and I was back in business. Just get some decent ones and good fasteners. I'm assuming you run an aftermarket head with a decent wall thickness so I doubt you warped anything; sensor likely just saw an air pocket...

What Could Be Causing My Horrid Gas Mileage?

Could have a vaccum leak. Hows the drivability?
  13. HankyGT

Is 55psi too much for fuel pressure???

Generally 39#s vaccum off and vac hose that was removed plugged (use your finger). Different tuners will ask for different baselines, and and FMU can change things aswell...although you shouldnt need one with a 1:1 rising rate reg.

    Aftermarket Hood Question

PINS PINS PINS PINS!!!!! Read my targa thread man!! I was on a freaking test drive with the new owner-to-be and my hood of 3 1/2 yrs came up on me! :( Same story, always latched hard, never an issue.....NEVER AGAIN. Pin that sucker.

For all the people wondering about targa tops....

Yeah, the kid still hasn't left me alone...I'm trying to get it fixed as fast as I can heh. Tore it all apart today. Hood is junk-o. Really mangled the one hood hinge bracket and tore the metal anchor from the unibody :( ...that will suck to fix. Need a cowl, wipers, blades etc. Tried taking...

Suggestions on exhaust for a sleeper

These are two entirely different parts with entirely different functions.:p The answer is YES, he will need a bov. He'll likely need an external wastegate given the size of the turbos used on these cars; but if its dumped back into the exhaust vs. externally it'll be much quieter.:nice:

    Those with 4.10 gears, questions

FWIW I run 3:73s with the power adder. 4:10s wouldve been too much gear on a 26" tire through the traps forcing me to run into 5th. Sometimes I wish I'd have gone 3:55s for a little more highway topend though....top of 4th is kind 'it' on a t-5 if you ever partake in such illegal roll-on...

For all the people wondering about targa tops....

Yeah...it kinda sucks, but I'm going to tear it apart tommorow and get it sorted. Usual setbacks heh. It was a Champion Fiberglass hood if anyone was wondering. People want targas because they are freaking sweet. Although some people prefer strictly hardtops; I think all cars are best...

    Those with 4.10 gears, questions

I went from 300rwhp with 2:73s to a direct swap to 4:10s. Went from feeling dog***** slow to REALLLY REALLY fun and frying the tires everywhere.

    Little vid

Badass man! I never realized so much work went into your car. I should make a vid of my progress sometime. Insane how many hours you forget you've invested.
