Wheels-Tires Wheel/tire Combos Known To Fit

Can anyone tell me if this wheel/tire combo will work? I have a stock '78 Mach I and am considering the following changes: Front: Granada 11" brake swap, 15 x 7 wheels with 4.25" backspacing (6 mm offset), 225/50R15 tires Rear: Stock axles redrilled to 5 x 4.5 bolt circle, Ranger drums...

    Rear bumper cover

Does anyone know where I can find a rear bumper for a 78? The cast-in steel plates on mine are rusting/expanding, causing the urethane surface to split and get wavy. I know this is a common problem. My car is for summer cruising and car shows so I'm a little leary of the fit and missing trim...

    source for new t-top weatherstripping?

I need the felt-like covered weatherstipping that goes on the sides of the t-top opening in the roof. Anyone know of a source? This is for my 78 Mach 1.

    Intermittent power loss on highway

I checked the power to pin 1 and it is 12 V. Removed SCT piggyback chip and code 15 is still present. Cleared codes and rechecked w/o starting engine and only codes 15 and 85 remained. I really don't see why bad KAM/NVM would cause the car to just lose all ignition while cruising down the...

    Intermittent power loss on highway

Wow, thanks for all the info jrichker! I'll do some diagnostic work tomorrow afternoon with the info you supplied. Regarding the O2 sensors, that's the way my tuning guy (Lidio at Alternative Auto Performance in Michigan) sets up all the 5.0s he tunes (O2s disabled). I don't understand why...

    Intermittent power loss on highway

I'm hoping I can get some guidance here . . . My stang has had some brief, total power losses while driving down the highway at 75 - 80 mph. The last time it happened it lasted about 5 seconds. Fuel pressure remained normal. Pressing the accelerator produced no power only a faint humming...

    1 3/4" vs. 1 5/8" long tubes

I should be ok then. I'm planning on getting the ceramic coated BBKs. The DSS pan is a modified stock pan w/ a wider bottom portion of the reservoir. The MAC LTs I have now don't have a lot of clearance to the pan and required some reshaping near the starter. My main complaints w/ the MACs...

    1 3/4" vs. 1 5/8" long tubes

Thank you. Will the 1 3/4's fit w/ the 7 qt pan ok?

    1 3/4" vs. 1 5/8" long tubes

Which size is better for my application? My exhaust valves are 1.550" I may add a supercharger in a couple years. Currently running 300 rwhp. I'd appreciate any guiddance or links to relevant test data. Thank you.

Which type/size headers do I need?

I have a similar set-up and question . . . I'm trying to decide between 1 5/8" vs. 1 3/4" BBK LTs. How much torque would I lose w/ the 1 3/4's? I hope to add a supercharger down the road, but my current combo is a 331 w/ GT40x alum heads (mild porting), about .600" lift cam, trick flow street...

SFI bell housing or flywheel needed?

BTW, Anderson also has an aluminum flywheel for a good price - $329. The sales guy said it is SFI rated too.

SFI bell housing or flywheel needed?

Great - thanks for all the input! From Anderson's site, it looks like the McLeod BH and Pro Motion fork will cost a total of $378. I also saw a PRW SFI steel flywheel for $130.05. This is far less than other SFI flywheels I've seen. I know it's not as good as an aluminum flywheel, but it's...

SFI bell housing or flywheel needed?

I was looking at the McLeod bell housing ($294.45 from oemfordparts.com). I understand from prior posts that I need a long clutch fork too - does anyone have a P/N or good source for the fork? Also, does anyone know if there are interference issues between the McLeod bell and Mac long tubes?

SFI bell housing or flywheel needed?

Yeah, the failure mode is definitely pretty scary. I just didn't know if it was something that only applied to the more serious hp builds vs. a moderate street build.

SFI bell housing or flywheel needed?

Can anyone tell me at what hp/rpm an SFI bell housing or flywheel is needed/recommended? I'm building a NA 331 and am not planning to do much, if any, official drag racing. If the risk of blowing a clutch or flywheel is essentially zero for my application, I'd like to save the $ and...
