I just installed new battery, then tried part throttle crank and it started right up. I think something wrong with the TPS.

Haven’t touched the distributor since it last ran. Ill give full throttle start a try after replacing the battery, it just went dead.

White smoke most of the time means coolant burning off or steam if its grayish, but could be oil too, check for oil or coolant leaks dripping on to a hot surface and creating the smoke. When the engine is cool look all around the engine, all the coolant Hoses, gasket area's, thermostat...

54deuce - thanks, looks like ill end up having to just keep cleaning my plugs (sand blast) and driving it untill i can get the engine torn down. strtrcr50 - yup i will be doing the leak down test and definitely check the valve seals make sure they were installed properly maybe the shop messed...

Alright thanks, ill give the wet compression test a try. Im also pretty sure the ring is done. Wish i could drive it little longer before tear down. Is it possible to remove the piston from the bottom with the engine still inside?

i posted this on other forums thought i would do it here too. I been having misfire problem for a while, so today i checked every spark plug. Number 8 spark plug found wet with oil and carbon build up. I had my heads rebuild not too long ago. The valve seals are brand new. My only guess now...

Did you pay him any money plus the civic or was it straight trade? If it was straight trade he got ripped off big time. He could have parted the car out and got more money than what your civic's worth.

If you go with H pipe or X pipe its not much youll be spending around $200 for pipe and having it welded on, if you already have mufflers. Both systems are good, but from my research X pipe has better exhaust scavenging.
