    so im having this "clanking noise" that is consideribly loud which i strongly beleive to be the butchered exhaust the local shop put on it which was hand bent straight pipes. the sound is only noticable at low speeds and very noticible when doing slight turns like the nascar tire heating methods...

    straight pipes are amazing, just dont waste your money on slp lm's. a muffler shop should be able to do straight pipes for no more than $125, i personally did mine and only spent about $36 in materials.

    iskwezm, i did contact your friend but im just not willing to drive 2 hours to pay 600 for him to tune it, he wouldnt even make any deals with a cai with a tune

    does anyone have any feedback on the sniper tuner? i am really considering a brenspeed so i can have a proven product, but i love tinkering with the car and thought maybe the sniper would let me do that? also any feedback on moto-blue udp?

    i dont see anything wrong with 87 ive never had any sort of knock or detonation problem, ford recomends 87 dont they? but im not aware of any sort of advantage of running higher octane since its mechanicly sound as it is.

    would it be ok to run some unleaded race fuel mixed with 87? i dont want to have any kind of air/fuel/timing problem or would it be good to run at least premium every other tank? i keep hearing people say how its bad to run only 87 octane but will the engine really have less carbon build up or...

    i would really love to do the xcal2 but the problem im thinking of is wether the 87 tune would be worth the $400. i get all the free 87 octane i can use from work so its hard to buy 91 when i get 87 for free... the two main ?'s i have are #1, is the 87 tune much of a gain compared to the 91...

    to put a long story short, my uncle just bought a c6 vette and i want to be able to beat him to work(we live and work together) or at least hang with him, would a cai, 91 tune, udp's, and mufflers be a good enough recipe to hang with or beat him? also, gears are not possible... strictly simple...

    Stock muffler surgery

    Im glad to see im not the only one who had that idea! but i ended up just cutting the muffler and bent and welded in a straight peice of pipe, and the sound is identicle to the slp's
