I would keep the mufflers, and look at getting an offroad mid pipe.

Thank You MWhite I have the pypes off road H pipe, so there are no cats and I believe it is 2.5". There is a decent power increase, I lost a little on the botton and gained a little on the top. I did it more for sound than anything. Let me know if you have anymore questions.

Its really not hard to do at all, like stated above, it can be done it 30 min. I too have mycolor gauges and it is hard to read them during the day. If you buy them I recommend getting them straight from NRauto, a few places online sell the same ones for $30 more.

What about the shelby hood that came on the Hertz?
