    Labor Time To Replace Solenoid Pack

    Hi, my sister has an 06 v6 mustang. It's at the dealership now and they want to replace the solenoid pack in the trans. I'm a classic car mechanic but to me the job looks really easy. The dealership wants 4 hrs for the job. Is that way too much? I live outta state otherwise I'd do it for her

    Unplugged sensors

    Long story short, I need to remove my front passenger seat for an extended period of time. The seat has a sensor in it to tell if the passenger air bag should be on or not, like if there's an infant seat there or something. Besides an airbag warning light, is there any potential negative...

    hurst stick on Pro-5.0

    cool, thanks. Yea, i love the look of a chrome hurst stick and white ball, but just don't really like a hurst shifter all that much. The pro-5.0 is pretty great though.

    hurst stick on Pro-5.0

    This stick is specified for stock T-5 shifter or Hurst super comp, will this stick also replace the one on a Pro-5.0 shifter on a 3550? "1987-92 Mustang with Factory Console and T-5 Transmission 530-538-0036"

    Summit wheels

    I'm thinking about getting the 4 lug summit pro-stars. 4" fronts, 8" rears. Anyone here run the summit branded wheels? They are pretty inexpensive, are they also pretty crappy? I could be wrong, but I think they are the only four lug pro-star style wheel available.

    Comp Cams VS Hot Rod Cams

    The installation of the hot rods is very straight forward. You need the special valve spring compressor and timing chain wedge though. The tools are expensive,and the valve spring compressor is completely necessary. The $90 timing chain wedge seems like a real rip off but i don't recommend...

    Glowing Headers

    Your timing probably is severely retarded as suggested by stone pony. An undertimed engine will run okay, but the exhaust will be ridiculously hot. It's not good. My dad and I built a 383 for his vette and initially had the timing way too retarded. The car actually caught on fire from the...

    people with pypes violators

    I have the violators on my 07 GT and think they sound pretty good. I wasn't too impressed with them at first, but they've grown on me a bit. They don't drone too bad, they sound very good under accelaration (very good). At idle and while manuvering in the driveway they don't have much...

    17" deep dish bullits

    That is definitely an option if i can't find 17's. I really like the look of a deep dish rim in the rear. My computer won't load the pictures of Heavy's car, but I'm sure the staggered set up would look good. I'm thinking black with machined lip for my alloy 07 GT.

    17" deep dish bullits

    eh, I really want 17's so I can keep using my stock 17's up front ($$$$$$$). hmm. why won't my signature show?

    17" deep dish bullits

    Yes, hence the problem. Pretty sure they're out there somewhere though. Man Heavy, (just checked out your sig) I sure hope I never run into you on the street and accidentally line up with you!! Yer stang must really haul. Will

    17" deep dish bullits

    I've been looking all over for a pair of 17" deep dish bullits with the correct offset for the rear of my '07 GT. I noticed a guy posted a bullit wheel thread and someone had 17" DD, but we still don't know where he found them. thanks PS. I'm not interested in the 18" version, just the 17"

    using oil

    right, 15,000 on the car, but down a quart between 10,000 and now. I've done a quick check for leaks but will lift the car next week to really check it out. As some other forum members have experienced, my car will occassionally puff a little blue smoke on start up. Luckilly, I have a very...

    using oil

    I checked my oil yesterday, (i'm coming up on my 15,000mi. oil change) and realized that I was down about a quart. I always service the car at the recommended intervals and am wondering if anyone else is using oil.

    removing rear brake pads

    thanks a lot for the quick reply. I'll give it a try with the needle nose first, although the tool looks like it would be worth having around. Does it matter which direction you twist it and how much force/difficulty is needed to twist and compress the pistion?

    removing rear brake pads

    Does anyone know how to compress the calipers on the rear brakes in order to install new brake pads? The parking brake is off, but is still seems to be interfering. I've tried using clamps but the pistons wont compress far enough to get the job done. The car is an '05 v6.

    COMP Cams

    Nice, now I deffinately have cam/head work in my future. I tend to do all the wrench spinning and knuckle busting myself, but I think I will take your advice and find an experienced tech for this project. It hurts to have to do that , but these new motors just aren't as straight forward as the...
