    Cleaning out a gas tank

A little bit. Not much, and it certainly isn't something that jumps out at you. I will get a picture for you. The biggest difference is in the trunk, the tank is definitely taller. My trunk mat fit differently, and you lose a little depth. Tim

    Cleaning out a gas tank

I had no clue that tanks were that cheap....I never would have bothered to post the question if I knew that! I ended up with a 20 gal tank for a 69. It was FREE (from a stalled project belonging to a friend), and I just had to modify the filler neck. Easy solution! Thanks for the help...

    Cleaning out a gas tank

Now that I have my ignition problem sorted, I have a new dilemma. The car sat for 15+ years before I started on it. I drained the tank, but that wasn;t enough. It is still sending mountains of garbage through the fuel system. What is the best method for cleaning out a gas tank? I am taking it...

    Strange issue with my 66

Ugh. I found the problem. I had the Powermaster starter wired incorrectly at the solenoid. Once I fixed that, it fired right up. On to the next problem...

    Strange issue with my 66

2 different solenoids, identical results. I double checked all the wiring to the dist, ignition switch, and soleniod just to be sure. I'm testing voltage this afternoon, that should get me going in the right direction.

    Strange issue with my 66

I'm good! Finishing up this 66 Convertible to be my daily driver..... I am going to check voltage while cranking, that should tell me what exactly is going on. It doesn;t even try to start with the key, it just spins over, so that is probably the issue. Now I just have to figure out how to fix...

    Strange issue with my 66

By remote starter button I mean a Matco button that clips on and basically jumps the solenoid. It is not a permanent installation, and I did not change the wiring at all.

    Strange issue with my 66

Ok, new motor, trans, etc. New Mallory magnetic dist. (keeping "pink" resistor wire) Started the car for break in, etc. with a remote starter button. Car starts and runs fine with remote button. will not start with key, turns over all day, won't start. I assume there is some issue with...

Help! I'm being defeated by pulleys and belts

OK, there is one of the problems...aftermarket PS pulley, single groove only. I need to see if I can find a double groove PS pulley for that pump...good times... There is no idler, the A/C compressor has the tension adjustment on the mounting bracket, if that changes anything. Let me go look...

Help! I'm being defeated by pulleys and belts

I am working on a 66. car originally was P/S, no A/C. I added Vintage Air A/C and a Unisteer P/S system. I can not figure out belts and pulleys. I have a 2 groove lower (the original one) and single, double, and triple upper pulleys. The single was the original and all are the same diameter...

Unisteer is offering $250 off their power

All done. Easy as that. My only gripe is that the lines are too short. I am having trouble routing them away from the headers, and it looks like I will need to use a clamp of some sort there. Other than that, it fits well and all is good. Car won't be started until next weekend at best, I will...

Unisteer is offering $250 off their power

So far so good....the pump is very nice, fits perfectly. The lines are pre-crimped. I have somehow lost the bushing that goes at the top of the steering column....I have to find one of those before I can put the shaft in. Everything has been really nice so far. I do wish the aluminum parts...

Unisteer is offering $250 off their power

I received my rack just before leaving on the Thanksgiving holiday. I will be installing tonight, and I will give everyone progress updates and my impressions....if anyone cares! For now, I am painting the pulley and taking the red anodizing off of the hose clamp cover. At first glance, the...

    rack and pinion

changing coils is really the way to change ride height, winding the spring on a coil over up and down has far more negatives than positives, I can't say that anyone use that for any more than 1/2" of fine tuning....

Unisteer is offering $250 off their power

I am very familiar with the TCP, and like I said earlier, I will be installing one of these within a week or so. I will be sure to let everyone know about installation, performance, etc. Tim

So someone decided to copy our idea for an E-brake handle

I'm guessing I know who.....based on past history! Sorry, I know how this story goes, it's unfortunate, but I do believe in Karma, and I do believe that things will come crashing down around the person responsible, it's not the first time he has done this...and I'm sure it wont be the last. Tim

    Interior paint question

I have had good luck with eazy-off and scotchbrite...followed by soap and water and more scotchbrite ( I use grey, not red) this keeps the texture intact, and cleans dirt, grease, etc, enough for the paint to stick. Not as aggressive as paint remover, less likely to cause collateral damage....

Just how safe can you feasibly get a first generation Mustang to be?

Wow...not sure why I deserved to be called a :taco:.... I am not in any way saying that the safety features are not needed, or are not beneficial. I was merely stating that they are ADDITIONAL features and they are no substitute for being aware and being a good driver. I have no delusions of...
