    Drivetrain Vibration From Rear

When looking at t5 in my 67 v8 mustang, the transmission end yoke is about 3/4" lower than 8" yoke, and engine also points downward. t5 output shaft is not in the car's center but 3/4" off to the side. This causes strange drivetrain angles. And I suspects this causes vibration that I am getting...

Electrical Pmgr Mini Starter Which One?

I have seen a few of those little starters for 5.0 on ebay. what do you think of their quality, are they worth $50? Considering brand name starters e.g. powermax or ford racing priced at $250-300 what do these cheap starters have lack of or what compromises in quality anybody knows?

How Glove Compartment Door Are Supposed To Open?

On 67-68, when I push the door button to release the latch can somebody explain what is supposed to make the door open (i.e. overcome the pressure imposed by my finger to release the latch)?

Engine 302 Looses Torque When Hot

302, holley 4777c carb tuned to run 13.5-14.5 AFR anywhere between 2000-3500 rpm (wideband o2 says). ign. advance set for best vacuum 1:2.7 gears, 235/55/r17 tires. when driving for a longer trip (50+ miles) it starts to have sloppy acceleration. does not overheat. even old carbureted vw with...

Brakes Stuck Pbr Calipers (how To Fix Them)?

It turned out to be the sheet-metal pistons became slightly oval in the upper part (closer to the pad).

Brakes Stuck Pbr Calipers (how To Fix Them)?

These are PBR calipers (not cobra) I took the pistons off (inner seal too) and was quite surprised to find out they sit really tight in the bore in the operating range! I have new rotors and brake pads whose total width is some 52.5 mm (2 1/16"). Is this the correct width? The piston is possible...

Brakes Stuck Pbr Calipers (how To Fix Them)?

How is it best to release stuck pistons in 2002 gt (twin piston) caliper so that there would be somewhat lesser drag between piston and seal? (the problem - passenger side wheel is dragging with engine off too) Has anyone attemted to do this with success instead of buying new/rebuilt calipers...

    T5 Crossmember For 68?

Fabbing your own is not that easy as it seems - to be sturdy enough, enough exhaust clearance, good looking. You need to bend solid metal or tubing to achieve enough space for the exhaust, there no way about it. Do you have bender? I made some four different designs; happy with neither one. if I...

Engine What's The Best Rpm For 302?

Just double checking the recommended rpm (2000-2400). As per mpg, my wideband shows 13:1 AFR at some 1700-1800 rpm, and this AFR continuously drops to 14.5:1 at 2700 (I assuem the AFRs are accurate enough). This is nearly 60% more cylinders fills for some 8% less gas in the mixture (if my math...

Engine What's The Best Rpm For 302?

With current 2.79 gears the engine makes only 2400 rpm at 70 mph at 4th gear (1:1), and I almost never use 5th gear... I have t5 and larger sn95 wheels 27.2" total height. The car is lazy at acceleration too. So what to choose 3.55 or 3.80? 2236 or 2394 rpm at 75 mph? 2041 or 2185 rpm at 35 mph...

Engine What's The Best Rpm For 302?

Just thinking about replacing 2.79:1 rear end for a slower gearing. What do you think is the best rpm that I should keep the engine running at (to minimize fuel consumption). I have wideband o2 gauge; is it uselfull in finding the best rpm for my particular engine (with several mods)?

    Lower Control Arm/bushings Concern?

these reinforced arms are IMO totally useless on a street car spend your money wisely on meaningful mods (subframe connectors, traction bars, no-wobble steering, disc brakes)

    J-car Rack Defect?

Can someone who knows these racks, or kits based on this rack (unisteer, randals), advise if this movement of the centerlink is normal? All bolts are tightened and it originates somewhere from inside of the rack thank you

    Blown Head Gasket.

horseball (maybe others) which small blocks do need sealant on lower head bolts? I saw 302 and the threaded hole did not protrude to cooling system, why would you then seal the threads?
  17. 6

    Blown Head Gasket.

not all small blocks have stretching bolts. e.g. older 302s have regular bolts (reusable in any hole). if you have strechning bolts do not reuse them.

    Blown Head Gasket.

pick any non-MLS felpro cheaper felpro 8240 (I guess) than 9333 is OK too, IMO even better for non-machined blocks/heads because it has milder steel rings (rest is identical)

    Front End And Disc Brakes

My experience is somewhat different.... >Many or most R&P setups give a wider maximum turning radius Pick r&p based on J-car rack, you won't notice difference in turning radius, if you don't believe this go to a wreck yard and measure the spindle arm length e.g. on 96 pontiac grand am, compare...

    Front End And Disc Brakes

Unless you drive interstate 130-150 mph IMO you won't feel a difference between well-tuned P/S and r&p. For front brakes, there are a few solutions that use OE parts (e.g. PBR calipers, cobra, granada)
