Dont let your friends drive your cars!!!!

It really dont seem like that big of a deal(the weight) after you add a set of aluminum heads and a set of lighter aftermarket headers. That has to account for atleast 100lbs doesn't it?

I will help them out a little, take a 95 with a bone stock 351 swapped in it. Both carbed, both stock short blocks.

in case u ever wondered what the s/c cobras rwhp stock..

Yes I did, sorry that I do not know every little working part that aids in it's design off the top of my head. I had to look up the weight of the 260/289/302 windsor also.

Ok compare the materials used, compare the weights both solid weight and rotating mass. The ability to take 80% of a LS1 apart with 1 tool. Siamese bores, block casting is better/offers more durability, improved oiling. Compared to gen 1 and 2 GM V8's of the same displacement it had a smaller...

Dont let your friends drive your cars!!!!

If you were really his buddy you would not try to build your car on his tab. Rebuild what you have to the specs it is at or have him give you the money that it would cost to do so then you man up and pay the remaining amount to build your own engine for your car.

    Challenger SRT8

The RT has like 350hp and stickers for $30,000. You probly seen a 425hp srt8. They look good but I think dodge is pricing themselves out of the segment. If the srt8 was around $36k I could see it but not mid $40's

    Quickest mods to beat LS1!!

I agree, I had a bolt on 00 M6 Vette and would hit the traps at 109-110 in the mid 12's with stock gears pulling around a 1.8/1.9 second 60 foot mark on stock size/brand tires. I also had a 94 Formula LT1 M6 with a intake and exhaust and could smash on bolt on SN95's. I could stay nose to nose...

So I bought a brand new fender

Ordered it from a local place here Christmas eve. So when I have it off plan on getting rid of the intake silencer. Question though, would it hurt/help to extend a pipe from the fender where the intake goes in on the engine bay side to the bottom of the inside of my fender? Not taking the stock...

My car is truly a virgin.

My 89 SSP is all stock besides the oil/plugs/plug wires. Air silencer still in place along with everything else. I plan on taking my silencer out this weekend because I am replacing the passenger fender.

in case u ever wondered what the s/c cobras rwhp stock..

Realistic. Ok take the last part of my post. Put a fuel injected 351w vs a fuel injected 346 ls1 against eachother. Both stock displacement and 9.5 to 1 to 10.5 to 1 compression ratios. What could a 351 produce with a set of heads, a cam, a intake, all the supporting mods(fuel pumps/injectors...

in case u ever wondered what the s/c cobras rwhp stock..

I understand what you are saying but when comparing technology of say a gm pushrod engine vs a ford pushrod engine you dont throw up stroker kits, aftermarket heads, cams, and so forth. You look at the design the is presented. If that is the case take a look at the trickflow 440 lsx engine that...

Cut heads .025 thousandths...do I need different pushrods?

I'd say it would be something like that. I was wondering about the compression and such because I plan on doing all I can do with a set of stock heads worked to their max. abilities. Seems like a decent little way to jump compression a tad bit making it a better setup for a slightly more...

what kind of milage are people getting with a basicly stock setup, T5, and 4.10's?

Cut heads .025 thousandths...do I need different pushrods?

I hate to hijack but what happens by way of compression ratios and valve to piston clearence when doing something like this. I know in general terms that 1.90 valves are about the largest you can go without fly cutting the pistons. But what about after you do something like this?

in case u ever wondered what the s/c cobras rwhp stock..

Being you have to compare a stroked aftermarket setup to a stock engine should let you know something. The LS1's are far lighter and will handle much more power than a pushrod SBF. That is not a debate thing, that is fact. I know the LS1 has displacement on the 302 but people seem to look past...

    Picking the right Heads??

I want low 11's with spray, I think low 12's maybe touching high 11's can be done with stock heads that are worked but I also plan on a cam but I think it can be had by suspension stiffining, the right setup, the right tires, along with tuning. I see your numbers and dont see why it could not be...
