okay everybody, thanks for the info. :-) i thought it might be something like that, but wasn't sure. i don't drive the car very much, and i guess i never had it over 6000 rpms before. probably a good thing it's there, so i didn't screw up the engine. thanks again.
sorry if this has been posted before; didn't find anything in a search. just noticed that my 09 GT's engine cuts out at high rpm's (6000+). it runs fine up until then, and as soon as you back off the throttle it runs fine again. seems like a computer thing to me because the stopping and...
i had the same problem when i removed my spoiler; thought about it for a while and finally decided to use plastic push fasteners with a washer on the underside to hold it. don't have a picture of one, but it has a very thin, flat, round head and a lot of little fins on the shaft. if you get...
that's actually my favorite out of all the spoiler choices (or the Xenon spoiler), and if i ever put a spoiler back on, i'd go with one of those. i'm still hoping to do some fiberglass work on my old decklid (i have a new one now) that should make it look really cool.
exactly - what were they thinking with the black plastic? i also don't like the way they kind of chamfered (sp?) (beveled) the corners. it looks like they spent about 10 seconds thinking out that design.
ha ha :) well, it's a little boxy and plain.... just sayin.... also, the spoiler choices are a little weak, which is why i just took mine off, but now it seems so boring. wait till i get my sketches posted, then tell me if you think that it wouldn't look better. i agree though, that overall...
agreed; the back end is the weak link on both the 2005-2009 and the 2010+, IMO. what were they thinking?? i have an idea to do a little modification on the (spolierless) decklid of my 2009; i think it will look way cooler. i've got some sketches i may try to post and see what people think. i...
i thought about doing the same thing. part of me likes the pony, but another part of me thinks it makes the grille area look too busy. do you have any other pictures with more of a wide angle view?
my stang's nothing special compared to a lot of the blinged out rides on these pages, but here's a few pictures...
if i can manage to get up some time before the sun goes down, i'll take some daylight pictures to post. :D
hmmm, now i'm not sure.... my heart says 4.10's, but my head says 3.73s. ha ha. i hardly drive the car at all, and when i do it's usually in town, so i wouldn't have to worry about the 4.10s then; but it's the only good car i have so whenever i do take a long road trip i would drive the stang...
interesting; i've heard a lot of good stuff about the 4.10s; i'm leaning toward them instead of the 3.73s; don't want to go to a lot of work and then not see much of a difference. driveshaft and gears are the next mod on my list, for sure.
well, i just installed Vogtland leveling springs; it was supposed to lower the front .8" and the back 1.2". seems like it actually lowered both the front and back about 1". i definitely like it better than before, but i might try to lower the back a little more to level it out.
BEFORE...
thanks for the pics, zero. the new shaft looks so much sturdier than the old one.
cusp, did you see enough gain from the 3.73's to make the whole procedure worth it? i've got 3.31s now and would like to go with something bigger, but i don't want every gear to seem like a granny gear and be...
ok, thanks. seems like a half inch shouldn't make that much difference, but 235s may be a little narrow to begin with for 8.5" rims. i'll see what tirerack says.
Hi; this question has probably been asked a million times but i couldn't find a thread referencing it exactly.
I have stock 18" fan blade rims on my 09 GT; from what i have seen these rims are 8.5" wide; i have the stock 235/50/ZR18 tires on them. i would like to get some new bullit rims...
how do you like the 3.73s? i've got 3.31s right now and was thinking of going to 3.73s, but i didn't know if it would be worth the effort. i don't think i want to go to 4.10 gears because my rpms might get too high on the highway.
thanks for the info, infamousjim and wind-farmer; $1500 doesn't sound too bad, but if you get up there to near $300 per tire, not even including rims, that gets into the serious, bank account-changing decision range.
how does that tint work? i want to get smoked tail lights but i thought i should go with a whole new assembly instead of the tint because i thought the tint might be hard to apply and not look good.
