Stripped Crank threads and cracked Crank Shaft Ring at end (what is it called?)

Hi, I'm finishing up re-sealing my engine. I have found a few things the engine builder did me dirty on. Really dirty... They stripped 2 of the 3" of threads on the crankshaft for my Harmonic Balancer. (this is making it extremely difficult to re-install) Which is fine once the balancer is...

351C harmonic Balancer question: After 20ish years of my engine sitting wrapped in plastic. I feel this is a good time to replace the aging balancer with a new one. It is really old and has been sitting for 20 years. I have just refreshed ALL of the engine gaskets this week: (Oil Pan, Timing...

1965 Fastback interior Red Vinyl - color shade?

Hey! I deal a TON with red and dark red mustang interiors. That headliner and the lower vent kicks are considered "dark red". Some manufacturers also call that color Maroon. It depends on the vendor and the year and they seem to switch the name randomly. The door cards look to be the correct...

1969 / 70 mach 1 Window Run to body shell upper - Does this attachment require a U-Nut? Also, which run is hing side vs handle side?

Hi, I am replacing the entirety of my inner door workings on my mach 1. I have 2 questions about the window runs: The Window runs attach to the door shell (naturally). I found a kit with hardware bolts hurrah! The smaller golden bolts attach to the under side of the shell (easy). The upper...

Hi, I'm replacing the entire inside of my 1969 mach 1 doors and have a few technical questions. The bolts and nut to attach the window regulators to the inner door shell. What length are they? My guess is they are: 1/4" - 20 maybe 1/2" long? I do not have the originals to compare them to...

Need Help With Valuation Of A Car I'm Looking At.

Just from what I am seeing I wouldn't buy it. Unless they are selling it under 5k. Just know its not going to be cheap to fix. How do I know this? Go to my restoration page. I was ready to sell mine after all the years of work. I took 4 years off and started again this winter. The restoration...

What To Ask? 1969 Mach 1

I didn't mention I had to set the buckets on the car to take pictures so they are just hanging there. Don't worry they fit perfectly. The scoop and the wing are not in the pictures. Mike

New Front Disks (stock replacement) for 69 mach 1

Thanks for the responses guys, I love this community. Well, the only reason I asked about the 70 spindles is they are actually readily available from mustangs unlimited. I remembered an old racing buddy commenting on the stoutness of the 70 spindles, so I brought it up as an inquiry, thanks...

I pulled a stupid. Need a part location

I think I know where it goes (right at the frame rail and Torque box) but I need the orientation. I'm sure there is a designed orientation so the hook doesn't fall out. I think I found it. HA! the internet saves stupidity once again... Mike

I pulled a stupid. Need a part location

I finished up the floor pan and forgot to weld in the parking brake idler bracket. I sealed and painted over the correct location marks I had so exactly marked. I could use a picture of the proper orientation and location for a 1969 mustang. This is really embarrassing. I could use a nice...

    1969 mach-1 Restoration hours 9-25

Exactly! it also requires the end user to pound the transmission tunnel up where the super-shifter linkage would normally have pressed against the tunnel (I properly dollied it back to shape, then used all metal as seen in the pictures to smooth out the pitting). All repaired. I am sure I...

    1969 mach-1 Restoration hours 9-25

Thanks for the encouraging words GT. I am glad I asked your advice on the rear-torque boxes a few weeks back. I would up using the replacement metal (very thick) to repair some damage to the front torque boxes. Words cannot describe the amounts of annoyances you run into when fixing these...

Well, Here are some more pictures. I decided to replace the whole floor pan. I removed the suspension for restoration etc. It really took a bit longer than I anticipated. Wire wheeling the underbody was insanity. I got it really clean, but good lord was I dirty. I looked like a coal miner who...
