    SVO or 5.0?

Indeed (for the time they were made): 4 link (Quadrashock) rear, Koni adjustable shocks and struts from the factory and nice variable rate springs. Mine had the original Konis and they were awesome. Replacing them is pricey however, and on many cars you'll find will have lesser replacements on...

    SVO or 5.0?

I sold my pristine 85.5 last year (sold it to pay off some debt). Miss that thing--had 17.5k miles and was like new. That thing would run circles around my current '87 5.0 on a twisty road, and the power from a turbomotor built 25 years ago is actually impressive. Not much down low torque wise...

    '87 LX 5.0 Hatch $5,200

'87 Mustang LX 5.0 hatch, 5sp man. White, with tan interior. Verified 96k miles, was a one family car for 23 years, always garaged-CA car its whole life. Original paint (some chipping on the top of the front fenders, but great for a 24-year-old car), original super-clean interior. Detailed...

No mustang but a ford...whatcha think?

The early 3.0L Yamaha motors are great-way ahead of their time--as said above, the transaxle and cable linkages are the weak point of the drivetrain: basically too much power for the front-drive set up. Longevity wise, I'm not sure how well these cars do. There are definitely not many left on...

    I bought an '11

I am jealous. I saw a white '11 at the dealer near me and have been thinking about it since. Looks like you bought it at the Power Ford in Tustin. Bought my '03 Mach 1 there.

Opinions: '87 LX hatch or '85 GT?

I'd love to add an '85 to the collection and keep the '87, but my garage space, wife and current funds are prohibitive. :(

Opinions: '87 LX hatch or '85 GT?

Well, I think I've decided to keep the '87 for now. Thanks all for the input. I'm not one for converting, so it will stay an aero car. I have this tendency to sell cars right after I spend money on them--gonna refrain this time. Plus, it is a fun car to drive, and the EFI is just easier to deal...

Opinions: '87 LX hatch or '85 GT?

I tend to stick to originality, so if I got an '85, it would remain carbuerated. I like both systems-each have their benefits, but the EFI is definitely an easier system to work with IMO, and easier to smog here in CA.

Opinions: '87 LX hatch or '85 GT?

Loved the SVO, though I missed the V8. I sold SVO for a profit, paid off some debt, then bought the '87. The problems is, I just put $2,500 into the '87 to get it right, now I'm thinking about selling it. Nice '85 GTs are few and far between too. Guess I will have to do some thinking.

Opinions: '87 LX hatch or '85 GT?

Here's the scoop: I have an '87 LX hatch 5.0--5 spd, white with tan interior. Car is in very good original condition, though I need to touch up the original paint in a few spots. 95k original miles. Mechanically tip top--except for a minor oil pan gasket leak. I do like the car, but have...

Daily driven 5.OH what you think?

Ha...+2 The Mark VIIs have many electronic components including an air suspension that can be troublesome if they fail. Personally, I'd pass on this one. The rust is a deal breaker.

    Any cars come with 351?

Yup, I forgot that one. I completely forgot that there was an "R" in '95.

    Any cars come with 351?

No fox Mustang or any Mustang after 1973 came with a 351 from the factory, except the Saleen S351 (though a tuner car, and not a factory Ford). The Interceptor Crown Vics from '84-'91 had carbed 351s. I think they were "variable venturi" carbs--a 4 barrel with smaller auxiliary ports.

Auto Transmission Question - will this work?

The auto in the 2003 is the 4R75W. This is a much newer, computer controlled auto that will not work with a fox 5.0. I'd try to find a modified AOD with a shift kit and much looser stall converter than stock if you want to get any performance out of an auto with a 5.0.

    gt40p heads

Don't think so. I'm pretty sure you need the FRPP headers specifically for the GT40s (can't remember if there are headers for the GT40s and GT40Ps specifically).

    A terrible dilemma

I've always liked the Conquest/Starion. I think you should thoroughly check out the car and drive it, then sit on it for a day and then decide. For the time, they were pretty unique and well-built, rear-drive sports cars. The '89 had a 12V 197 HP turbo motor, if I'm not mistaken, and as you...

What needs to be done to my 5.0 to keep up with 11 5.0's

Just wanted to point out I was at a local Ford dealer today and saw two 5.0s with 6 spds, cloth interior, and spoiler deletes with stickers of $30,595. Of course, these are the "base" GTs with no Brembo package, the base wheel/tire package and no frills interior (no alum trim, lighting, etc)...
