90stang5speed Rear Mounted Turbo Project Thread

I need to read the posts better Man I never noticed you had mounted the bov in the cabin area. That seem a bit extreme. Its loud under the hood, especially with the import style trumpet bell hanging off them. I love the sound, but not that much. I am glad to hear from you and that you are...

    68 Mustang over-heating after upgrades

treating symtoms and not finding a cure The carb is the same. The intake is the same. The #1 way to increase the air flow and performance of an engine is cam and heads. Assuming the carb was jetted correctly the 1st time, now you have WAY more flow from the heads and cam, the motor is going...

    Gene's Engine

its better Get the vac secondary spring kit(and quick change top) I try some different springs in there. Again, each car is different. So no DP,600 cfm with one metering block in the front. Much better than a DP for your set up. The power valve "open" will provide an additional 10% MORE fuel...

    low vacuum + runs rich

List # It is better you have the t5 and not an auto. It's interesting that 14 is low vacuum to you. What is the lobe center of the cam you have? 2.79 is a grunty gear for a DP. I was never happy untill I got Vac seccondaries.Even with a 3000 stall converter and 4.33 it was too much too...

    low vacuum + runs rich

Power Valve My 351c has 7" in park and 5" in drive.(112 lobe 520/540 lift) For sure the cam will effect vacuum .Lobe center or overlap, duration can effect this. The Stock power valves are 6.5 depending on list# of the carb. I ended up with a 3.5 or 4.5 power valve. I played with it some...

131 IAT's @ full boost Stick a fork in it, its done. Here are the final results. On the dyno it made 353 ft/lbs torque and 325 RWHP on 8 lbs of boost. The IAT held at no than 131* with a 1.5 loss of pressure on the way up from the back (on a very hot engine with hard pulls). That should put the...

    Welds rusting

Primer Primer absorbs anything, water ,grease, cat pee(dam kitty!). You must paint over it before exposing it to water or moisture. Good call on the weld-though primer , I used it too.

    68 Mustang over-heating after upgrades

How to Degree A Cam - Lunati Power This is one of the better how too's on degreeing a cam. Unlikely to cause overheating, it could be a factor. It's a big factor in making power. It's my belief if the car didn't over heat before, it's something that has just been done. The next thing to...

Ask the mechanic if he degreed you cam when he installed it... I he said he did have him/her explain how it was done and what instructions were on the cam card. 2nd vote for fan shroud too. Here's the link for your fuel/jet/rod graph on Vic's website...

    68 Mustang over-heating after upgrades

I'm am glad the jetting and timing has been brought up. Make sure to use the graph in the Edebrock book only for jet and rod changes. Don't use Carter jets and rods. Make sure the dist. vacuum line is going to ported(gets higher when revved) and not manifold vac(drops when 1st revved). If it...

Good job Keep up the good work! The Meth kit is supplying quite a bit of extra fuel. I remember a guy running 600rwhp with dinky stock injectors and the only supplemental fuel was the meth kit ! I would never recommend or do that, but it proves a point of how much additional fuel it can...

Smell in the cabin? No idea where it's coming from

I had the same issues with my 71. Here is what I found. Leaky block to flange gaskets(bad hedders to gasket match)leaky collector gaskets, rust hole in 4to1 collector(and coated hedders too!)leaky collector gaskets(I now have thick dead soft ones) and many pin holes in rear floor pan. I...
