Exactly.. after having the beast for a couple months, I don't even really need to look down at the tach either. You can just tell within about 5mph what speed you are going knowing what gear you are in and how the car sounds. Gotta love driving a stick! :D

Its definitely an eye catcher. On an overcast day it looks black with just a tiny hint of red. Just enough you can tell its not just Black. When the sun hits it, it brings out the deep red tint. Saw one at a dealership one day and feel in love with the color.

The Lava Red when seen on an overcast day looks pretty much Black. Barely any hint of the red pigmentation is seen in certain lighting conditions.

I have seen the Lava Red Metallica in person, actually have ordered my 2012 GT in Lava Red. It does indeed look black has a very dark red metallic flake to it when in the right light. Depending on where you are standing, the color can shift to have an almost violet coloration to it. Hope this...
