Got the Anderson Top End Kit Installed

It sure is. Used a dremel cutting wheel and cleaned it up with a deburring bit. It comes with a sort of plastic strip that is really difficult to get on. But once its on there it seems to stay. Right now I just have the filter/maf free but there is a bracket I want to mount it to the fender once...

Got the Anderson Top End Kit Installed

I'm getting some pricing on having it tuned and the shop also does install work. Depending on the pricing, I might have them at least do the gears and new differential I've had for 10 years, possibly the front main seal too. Time is at a premium at the moment and I'd just like to drive the car...

Got the Anderson Top End Kit Installed

Well after a 70 mile drive, its leaking oil at the front of the motor pretty badly. I think its just the front main seal. I am a little concerned though, when I bought a new cover, it came a little warped and was "flexible" so I figured it would just conform to the motor once bolted in. I am...

Build Thread Mustang5L5's Build Thread -

FWIW last weekend I had to redo the lash on all the rockers because I didn't read the cam card which said 3/4 turn, anyway went ahead and pulled all the plugs and mine smelled like gas but not the black coloration you have on parts of yours. I went ahead and put 93 octane in mine and have...

Got the Anderson Top End Kit Installed

Not sure it always just said Anderson Ford Motorsports in the emails. But I don't have any complaints. The cam was out of stock when I bought mine but it came in a couple of months which fit my 2 yr build schedule lol

Got the Anderson Top End Kit Installed

Thanks me too. I've been wanting to do a HCI for over 20 years. You know its funny after all this time, it kind of just feels like a newer car with less grip. The expedition has the twin turbo V6 and the truck the coyote 5.0 with probably similar numbers though obviously both are pigs. Either...

Got the Anderson Top End Kit Installed

I think I finally got most of the bugs worked out. Probably still needs a tune. Running really rich. I love the cam in this thing. Sounds great if you ask me. The top end power band is quite different with the stock 2:73's in it. Its funny, it actually acts a lot like the 997 911 I have. Loves...

    Hatch quarter window restoration options?

FWIW I sold the windows for 1500. They were going to a good home. Guy was restoring a SSC that had been sitting outside.

Engine What is this in the coolant port of lower intake gasket?

Actually now that I say that this looks like the kit I bought. https://www.cjponyparts.com/ford-performance-engine-gasket-high-performance-set-mustang-289-302-351w-1965-1995/p/M6003A50/?year=1979&gclid=Cj0KCQiAy579BRCPARIsAB6QoIZaHnlO_ucQi6Q3sYw_mIa3hfsuCacyuVnFbBT8oMeUM-FA-OXTntUaAuUVEALw_wcB

Engine What is this in the coolant port of lower intake gasket?

1250 R3's They came with the trickflow gasket kit. I chucked the ones that came with the Holley intake as they were even crappier.

Engine What is this in the coolant port of lower intake gasket?

Some gaskets have this smaller port inside the coolant ports, others do not. Why the difference?

Well I think I am just going to get new valve covers for the time being. Its the cheaper and more importantly much faster way to finish the car right now. Paint is in its future so will probably do a hood of some sort to allow the valve covers to be installed. Oh well live and learn.

Looks like it should just clear as is. Before they had the bracing in the way but it looks like they have modified it since. https://lmr.com/item/LRS-16612S/1987-93-Mustang-2-Steel-Cowl-Hood

Looks like its really going to need the 1 inch plus the 3/8 spacer which also means the hood doesn't close. I really like the steel 2 inch cowl hood and the car does need paint but dayum this thermostat is going to turn into a $10k mini-build. What would you do? Put smaller VCs on? I really like...

Here is where she currently sits. Waiting on a 1" spacer from summit to arrive to clear the taller vc's. I think its going to look sick when its done though. Getting so close now. Can't wait to fire this up.
