Zoom HP is what I just installed not too long ago. It keeps a stock pedal feel and can handle a lot of abuse. The only downside is the 700 mile city driving break-in period.
Check out this write up. www.corral.net/tech/maintenance/foglights.html I used it on my '87 gt and it fixed the problem for me. It also lets you have your fog lights on with just your parking lights.
If an intake is the only mod your doing go down the lines of a trick flow street, edelbrock performer, gt40, or cobra. A box style intake is overkill and will only hurt performance on a stock motor, especially with stock heads.
That sounds like the same problem I'm having. I installed a new clutch over the winter and don't remember hearing that sound before that. That's leading me to believe that it might be the throwout or pilot bearing although they're brand new. At first I thought it was just my x pipe rattling off...
I just installed a 2.5 lock to lock on mine not too long ago. I took a chance and bought it from Advance. With the P20 online promo code I only end up paying like $60. So far no problems. With the new tie rod ends and urethane rack bushings it steers like a new car again.
Code 33 is something about the EGR valve not opening. I don't think it's anything to worry about since your smog equipment is deleted. I have an O/H pipe and removed my smog equipment also. Without the cats and smog pump the exhaust fumes can be brutal. My girlfriend's always b****ing about the...
I would back it down to 38-40psi. That's where I have mine set at with 24lb injectors, 190 in-tank pump, and a in-line pump that came with my NOS kit. I have never had any problems and my gas mileage isn't that bad, on the highway anyway.
I installed a Zoom HP series clutch with the kevlar disk a couple of months ago and so far I love it. I used the tob and pilot bearing it came with and everything is smooth and quiet. I didn't notice any difference in pedal effort either. Now it grabs about half way up instead of near the top...
Aftermarket heads will wake it up. My best 1/4 mile pass to date is a 12.83 at 111mph. That's with a stock short block aluminum gt40x heads, an Edelbrock performer intake and a 75shot. I also still have the stock cam, although I did install 1.7 roller rockers. I wouldn't be surprised to see a...
I used to have the same problem. I had to keep both hands on the steering wheel on uneven pavement. I replaced my steering rack(the old one started puking fluid out of the bellow boots), tie rod ends, rag joint and replaced the rack bushings with urethane ones. After the alignment it steered...
I recently put 17x9 on 255/40s on the front and 17x10 on 275/40s on the rear of my '87 gt will no major problems.
With the front I was running a coil over setup and the wheels were slightly rubbing on the 14" springs so I had to install shorter 12" ones to solve that(won't be a problem if not...
I'm using the spacer on mine and like Chuckman said you want even notice any change in performance. I needed it to clear my fuel pressure gauge on my regulator.
The raised upper plenum also makes it look good. If you're using a strut tower brace you may run into a clearance problem with that...
I rented the pilot bearing removal tool from autozone and was only able to remove the bearing from the bushing. I ended up breaking one of the claws on the tool trying to remove the bushing. Returned it to autozone and rented there blind hole puller tool and had the bushing out within a minute...
Is there an easy way to remove the pilot bearing. I tried packing the area behind the bearing with grease and used a socket extension and hammer to try and compress it out. Didn't work. Do you have to beat the grap out of the socket extension? I didn't want to damage the crankshaft. The bearing...
About to do a clutch swap and noticed a metal tag on the t5 with the part# m-7003-z on it. The car's an '87 gt. When I bought the car I do remember the tranny looking new because it was spotless and the motor was filthy. According to ford racing that t5 already has a steal bearing retainer on...
I have a Powermaster one wire alternator in mine and notice the same thing with the voltage drop at idle. According to Powermaster this is normal. I'm not sure if your PA Performance is using the same type of setup though. Here's something I found on Powermasters website.
I noticed that my...
