Help Needed - Slight Vacuum Leak

TripleBlk: I actually changed that hose a while ago. I replaced it with nice stout heater-grade hose. But thanks...that would definitely have caused a problem if it had come undone!

Help Needed - Slight Vacuum Leak

trinity_gt: I checked and double-checked the fuel rail vacuum line, so I know it's not that. As for the fuel pressure sensor, I will check that next. Someone has also suggested cleaning the MAF sensor, which I have never done, I'm ashamed to say.

Help Needed - Slight Vacuum Leak

shaunspengler: I checked all of the vacuum lines you mentioned. Everything is hooked up correctly, nice and tight. I'm starting to suspect that I have a bad spark plug wire for the #4 cylinder (that's the one that's misfiring). I will also check my PCV valves.

I clicked on the link but it was no good. Was this a link to a sale or something?

Help Needed - Slight Vacuum Leak

Hello All: Okay, over the weekend I replaced my intake manifold, and the job went very smoothly (and I hope to post photos soon). I thoroughly cleaned the intake mounting surface. I mean THOROUGHLY cleaned it. I torqued the manifold mounting bolts down to the correct setting, and I tightened...

    Spark Plug Recommendations?

It was the going price in my area for that plug. I shopped everywhere and everyone had the same price. :(

    Spark Plug Recommendations?

OK folks, on the way in to work this morning I stopped off and bought a set of Motorcraft Platinum plugs. The part number is SP-432. They look like they’ll do fine, and they were only 4.99 each. I’m not sure, but I think they are slightly better than the original plugs that the car came...

    Spark Plug Recommendations?

OK, I am convinced. Does Motorcraft make a platinum or iridium plug?

    Spark Plug Recommendations?

This Saturday I will be changing my spark plugs in my 1996 GT. I would like to use something slightly nicer and/or higher performance than OE plugs. I just want to try a plug that will give my car a little "pep", as they used to say. I am interested in the best gas mileage/performance for...

Damn Top starter bolt, w/BBK Shorty Headers

I have the stock headers and I still have trouble reaching that top starter bolt. This might not be the correct thing to do, but I simply mount my starter using the two bottom bolts and leave the top bolt hole empty! For maximum stability, I use longer bolts than stock...my starter mounting...

Changing Spark Plugs - Time To Panic?

I am planning to address my leaking intake manifold this weekend. While the intake manifold is off of the car, I will take this opportunity to change out the spark plugs. This is simple enough for me—I’ve done lots of spark plug changes before. I want to start fresh, with a set of plugs that...

    QUESTION: Motorcraft Part # KH-610

Well, I am really having trouble finding this part. I believe that the Motorcraft KH-610 number refers to a 4.6L part, but NOT for the Mustang version of this engine. Since this part is so hard to find--and very well may be discontinued--I am really starting to think that it is something that...

    QUESTION: Motorcraft Part # KH-610

I'm getting the vibe here that I should probably just leave the hose I have alone. It's probably fine as it is. What exactly does this hose do? One end is connected to the back of the water pump housing...where is the other end connected? (It runs to the back of the engine block and then...

    QUESTION: Motorcraft Part # KH-610

I have a 1996 Mustang GT that I need to do some work on because of a leaking intake manifold. Underneath the intake manifold on my car's 4.6L V8 there is a special heater hose. The part is Motorcraft # KH-610. I can't remember what exactly this hose looks like...more importantly...

    98 GT Won't Idle

Yep. It's your idle air control (IAC) valve. It's mounted on the front of your throttle body. What you are SUPPOSED to do is replace it...but you don't have to. Just take it off, spray it thoroughly with carburetor cleaner. Shake off the excess and let it dry, then put it back on your car...

    4.6L Intake Manifold Question

bdcardinal: I wonder if I should go ahead and get another replacement intake manifold, take out the O-rings on it, and use the flat gasket set, with plenty of Permatex. I just don't know if the O-rings by themselves are sealant enough.

1996 GT - VERY Persistent Cranking Problem! Please Help!

Thanks, trinity! But I can't say she is actually running like she should, just yet! Now that I have that problem out of the way, I am trying to deal with some pretty severe coolant leaks around my intake manifold. (See my other post!)
