bizzare clicking / snapping sound in cooling system

Got it diagnosed as the thermostat snapping open and closed. Apparently the water may be boiling in the block and causing problems. The rad is very warm on passenger side but cool on the drivers side. Any ideas why coolant would be boiling in the block? The pump is pumping adequately (sound...

bizzare clicking / snapping sound in cooling system

Thanks for the reply, Walz... It's definitely not the timing chain and the sound only starts once the car is completely warmed up. No air bubbles present as the system has been 'burped'. I'm lost. Have no idea where to go from here and it's really annoying! :(

bizzare clicking / snapping sound in cooling system

Hey there... Got a weird sound coming from the front of the motor, near the thermostat housing. It's a clicking or snapping sound. Almost sounds like an elastic band snapping against paper or something like that. There's no pettern to the timing of the noise either. When you put your hand on...

    mini starter question

So did any other Ford vehicles come with the hi torque mini starter? I've sourced one from a 95 Mustang V6, a 92 Ford F150 and a 93 Cougar but I don't know if they will work on my car or not. Tks!

    jacobs electronics ingnition boxes

I've been using their ignition box for over 6 years now with no problems. Although the company has developed a poor customer service reputation over the years, I had no troubles exchanging wires.

    mini starter question

Someone told me that there are two mini starters - a regular version and a hi torque version. I thought that all mini starters were the hi torque model. Can anyone confirm that for me? Tks for the info so far. :)

    mini starter question

Was the hi torque mini starter standard equipment on the 92 and 93 Mustang? Or is the hi torque version only available after market? Also, I think it will bolt right up to my 85 motor since it's a stock flywheel. Is that correct? Tks. :)

"Real" Horsepower VS Dynoed horsepower ?

But to run a 1000 hp motor, you need a helluva strong tranny and rearend. More weight, more friction etc so yeah, it'll cost you more power. Will is cost 200 hp? Prolly not but it'll be a lot more than a T5 and a stock 8.8.

    Drag/street tire

I love the Nitto's. First set lasted about 10,000 miles with only a couple trips to the track. I race slicks only now but I'll never use another street tire other than the Nitto drag radial.

    ATTN G-Force owners

Is anyone with the syncro'd G-Force upgrade having troubles with it popping out of second gear on occassion? I just got my car back yesterday and it's done it several times. The shop adjusted the shifter but it's still happening. They said that might just be the way it is and that there's...

    G Force T-5 upgrade

I'm getting it direct from G-Force and having it installed locally. The basic kit is $1095, I think. Total cost will be less than the Cobra upgrade that I blew up.

    G Force T-5 upgrade

I'm getting the g-force upgrade this week. My Cobra Z upgrade grenaded 2 weeks ago driving home from dinner. :( The research I did says that the G-Force is the best option for me. I already have the Pro5-0 shifter, the bell housing and the case so it's the most cost-effective option. And...

    Front drag springs

What rate of spring would you run for a street/strip car? I want the emphasis to be on the launch but I still want it to be safe for street driving. I was thinking of the 175 but that might be too light. 200? 250?

    What carb would you run?

I'm looking for more of a race carb than a street carb. For winter drivability, I'll use the Edelbrock. For racing, I want max power. For that purpose, would you go 650 or 750?
