From 0-40 no issue at 40mph rpms shoot up. I am thinking of going with a 5spd swap if it does in fact need to be replaced or rebuilt.

So I made a decision on a 1988 5.0. I am going to have to have the transmission rebuilt as it seems like it might have lock up from what I have read. Fluid is full but it feels like its shifting from 1st to 2nd and doesnt shift again until after the RPMS shoot up. I,m loosing power at about 40...

I will be purchasing a 5.0 Fox Body this upcoming week. I am not a huge care guy but I have always wanted a 5.0 Fox Body and want to get into mechanics. Is there anything I should look out for in my search?
