Yea, identified the tapping as Pre-Ignition Pinging.... cause I was running 87 fuel, but I switched to 93, and it went away a little, but I still hear it slightly... Still have the p/s pump grinding noise under load.

Hi Pearl02! Update, car still tapping, and its getting worse... now on cold starts in the morning (see attached mp3 clip), it taps...very lightly though......car not only taps when going up a hill, now during normal driving. Also, there is a slight p/s pump whine? NOT the normal Ford whine...

My Stang is also Pinging/Tapping really loud when accelerating. I don't think my problem is Carbon buildup, as I use Seafoam with every fill up. This ping/Tap is very irritating for me, and i keep leaning towards bad lifters....Could it really be that simple? I actually heard that it could be...

URGENT!! Now it cranks for over 5 seconds before it turns over... It sounds like a normal start, but for over 5 seconds....my automatic starter also fails, but when I use that, it cranks ONCE then stops.

So its back from the mechanic....sorry for the late response, i was really busy during the week. 1. Oil pump is fine, i put Rislone Motor Treatment in the oil, still tapping, but I'll give it a chance to work through the system. Oil pressure gauge stills acts funny, maybe its just the gauge...
