    Yeah I'd say for $7000 I'd go turbo (i did) For about $2000 you can hit 300hp with the 2.3 turbo. And if you wanna put 7grand in it you can be up around the 400-500hp mark quite easily.

    I'd fill it full of coolant and check your ignition timing. The distributor might have got bumped when the tranny was being fixed. Sounds like it'll idle when the ecu is in closed loop untill it warms up.

    Yeah i'd pop off the upper intake and remove the valve cover and see what's going on with that cylinder. If you don't have any luck, you can sell the cam to me LOL! Though I am seriously looking at Bo's cams...

    Stinger is absolutely right I've seen 2.3's with 400 000km on them (240k miles) that still had perfect crosshatching on the cylinder walls!

    I did the exact same thing to my 2.3 before i went turbo. Unfortunately it's really hard to get above 100hp with the naturally aspiriated setup.

    Hey I've got an 87 turbocoupe and I've had this problem for a while now.     I agree the lobes do look pretty rough. But from what I can see in the pictures it is a ranger roller cam.

    Just be glad you don't have to buy gas in Canada. We're paying about $0.93/liter for 91 octane right now. And if my math is correct (1 gallon = 3.785412 liters) That figures to be about $3.52/gallon! and the news is saying it's gonna reach $1.00/liter ($3.79/gal) by summer time! :notnice...

    I've got a 90 turbo stang and an 88 turbocoupe. Those are the running cars. I also have an 84 turbocoupe (donor car) and I just picked up another 88 turbocoupe for parts. :nice:
