vortech idle surging and code p0113 HELP

your IAT tells the computer the temperature of the air going into the motor. It should be placed AFTER the supercharger and before the throttle body. If your running a Vortech Aftercooler it should be between that and the throttle body. From the sounds of it though, it looks like your wiring...

    Should I start worrying?

Mines 5 or 6 years old now and while there's SOME residue, it's no where near that bad. I've never had anything in the MAF like that.

    supercharger

Just go buy the new car. Even with a blower on it you still don't have a six speed, and theres a lot of supporting mods to get the most out of the car. Also, stock 4.6's typically dont do well much above 400 HP at the wheels. Both of those cars you mentioned will go faster, and likely handle...

    5.4 intake on a 4.6...would it work?

I've seen it done before, but it had to be cut and welded back together to fit. This was a lightning intake modified to fit a 4.6 with a whipple. While the person that did it was totally capable of handling that kind of work the average shade tree mechanic should look elsewhere.

Studdering under load/acceleration (not fuel filter)

Start pulling the plugs Kirk. See what they all look like. After that start checking the coils as stated above. Sounds like a miss-fire more so than a fuel problem. Unless the cars underwater I think you got enough air.

    IAT Sensor Relocation

Swap em if your still getting a CEL. He mounted it AFTER the blower correct? In the discharge? You sure the connections are good?

    supercharger

If I had to do it again, I'd have bought a Cobra or better yet a Corvette. That said, the Vortech is reliable. In thinking about that, I'd rather have a Paxton or Kenne Belle on it, but I cant complain aside from that. Turbos, while they make great power, are just a royal pain in the ass on...

    vortech questions

Pretty much the only thing your going to use that came in the kit is going to be the head unit and the drain line. Everything else is garbage. At minimum a Focus fuel pump, or 03 Cobra fuel tank setup should be purchased, 42's, and what ever air to air setup you decide on for a intercooler...

    Stainless steel brake line hoses

They used to have them but they had leak issues and pulled them off the site. I'm surprised they haven't updated that with new parts yet. That was years ago. I could use em in the back myself.

Still go through Maximum Motorsports. I've never had a problem with mine.

    My first blower

I wouldn't even bother with your circumstances. This is going to cost you money and with out a dyno to tune the thing properly for you its going to cost you even more if you blow the motor. Good engines aren't cheap. Just keep it stock until you can afford a reliable beater, the down time...

Where to buy mustang turbo? and how much different is the install?

I've installed an HP Twin turbo setup on a 2003 GT. The power is there, but it's not worth the hassle. Instructions sucked (they were for the old setup), the initial cost of the kit was just that, initial. The tuning sucked, the MAF was useless and needed to be changed out for a SCT MAF. And...

    what mods before u supercharge?

In all honesty, I think I liked the short throw shifter and subframe connectors better than the difference my blower made. I'm still on the stock clutch and it's holding fine since 2003. I have under 40,000 miles on the car. 3.27's do suck on the drag strip so make sure you get better...

    gas/fuel guage not working

They most likely got the fuel tubes wrapped around the fuel pump's floater. Theres an L Shaped bracket on the fuel pumps that floats up and down with the fuel level, this sends a signal to the fuel gauge and then it shows ya the level. Occasionally when installing pumps people accidently get...
