Cool abandoned buildings to use as a backdrop for car pics

Hey, that looks familiar! (I live just down the road) The only catch is that to get in you have to stay at their B&B and it is not cheap. You can barely see it from the road now and .the family that owns it also has been selling off their land so a lot of houses have sprung up all around. The...

    1.90 vs 2.02

Well, getting ready to have some work done on my stock motor. Probably a good time to do an HCI replacement at the same time. I am leaning towards Edelbrock Perfomer 5.0 (H, C, and I). Just about everyone else uses 2.02 on the intake side of the heads (Trickflow, Holley, etc) What are the...

    Issues With 89-93 Convertibles?

+1; Also, if you can, leave the top down on it for awhile and then put it back up. When I tested mine from the seller it worked fine, but I found it had problems closing after leaving it down after a few hours. Combination of top motor going out and top material shrinking over the years...

    bbk vs. mac

I have Mac ceramic shorties on my car. They have been on there for about 4 (5?) years without any discoloration or rotting.

Am i the first EVER to be unimpressed with a gear swap??!!!

2.73 to 3.55 was a huge difference in my 89 vert increasing repsonse in low to mid range. Agree with lang above that it does feel slower at the top end like when freeway passing. Of course, shifting the power band is pretty much what it does..

    Low oil pressure?

Interesting, my 89 does the same thing.

Convertible top not quite making it...

Another way to check if it the motor is to pull the pins that connect the top to the lift cylinders. It will allow the top to move independent of the top motor. It is probably cover shrinkage. My 89 has the same problem, I ended just buying some generic weatherstripping from the auto parts...

What's the best catback and mid-pipes for the buck?

+1 on the Magaflow catback. I run mine with MAC shorty headers and a CarSound (Magaflow's parent company) H-pipe. No complaints with either and both are very reasonably priced. H pipes have a slightly deeper sound than an X, but supposedly X's flow better. regards

    88 GT vert needs something

3.55 gears will give you the most bang for the buck. After that I would consider replacing the stock H pipe with its 4 cats (ok, 2 are precats) with a new H or X pipe.

    vert top motor

I was thinking that the clicking from the relays was them working (assuming they click in both directions). You might consider pulling the power connection from the top motor and test the power leads with a multimeter. One lead for each direction. It may help you narrow it down. regards

    Are these convertible woes normal?

Ooops..if you are asking me, I meant the term generically--the seal of the rear window to the top. The special "glass threading" has been fraying. I am experimenting with Gorilla Glue. Did wonders putting trim back on my Jeep :D The top fits almost perfectly without the window section. I...

Gt40 intake upper and lower for 100 dollors a good buy

IIRC, GT40 and Cobra have the same lower which is where your restriction is anyway...Awesome price. Lemme know if you don't buy it and they want to ship it :D

    Are these convertible woes normal?

I have an 89 that does the same thing. I recently took out the rear middle portion of the top (part with the window) to work on the seal. Without the center strip the top closes perfectly. I suspect that the top shrank over the years (also causing my sealing problems). I am going to see if I...

    89 running rich, o2 sensors?

Stock TB and MAF. Probably will end up doing both since they are both on the list of things to do (a long list pending funding of course) :) thanks for the advice!
