    1995 Mustang GT - Near Show-Car Condition

After nearly 10 years with her, I'm selling my Mustang. Car is in Atlanta. This is an exceptionally clean, near show-car condition, adult driven (non-smoker), low mileage 1995 Mustang GT 5.0. White exterior with tan leather interior. No accidents or body work. All factory options including...

need help fast! wheels and brakes

viridionplague, No, you can't fit 16" rims over Cobra brakes. (Your Cobra has 13 inch diameter front rotors. Stock GT and V6 94/95s have 10.8 inch front rotors.) That's why lots of GT owners stick with the '99 and up dual-piston PBR brakes when upgrading the lousy stock front brakes on a...

    Can you paint exhaust pipes?

zZsKyZz, You need to use high-temp exhaust system coating specifically designed for that application. Some of the best that I have used are made by a company called Eastwood. Here's a link to the page on their web site that has some of their high-temp exhaust coating products...

Signs of a bad torque converter?

Yup, you have torque converter clutch shudder. Been there, done that! Here's some info I posted before after dealing with this problem myself... Short story: You will eventually have to replace the torque converter in your transmission. Long story: There are a couple of things you...

Stumble at take off when cold

spacemonkey, That’s two votes for a bad Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor. But there’s another possibility as well. I had the same problem, a stumble just barely off idle when I just got the first bit of pressure on the gas pedal. If I stomped the gas pedal down faster, the...

    Front Brake Creaks! (Not squeaks)

Well, I got the car in the air this weekend and pulled the wheel off. And, luckily, it did make the same creaking noise. I checked the torque on the two anchor bolts that hold the whole brake assembly onto the spindle (85 ft-lbs). Those were OK. I checked the two bolts that screw into the...

    Front Brake Creaks! (Not squeaks)

Thanks much for the feedback! I guess I'll get the wheel off, stick my ear to the caliper and listen. If it's creakin' from there, I'll disassemble the caliper, pull the caliper slide pins out and take a look for some obvious signs of wear or galling of some sort on the pins. If I lube...

    Front Brake Creaks! (Not squeaks)

That's exactly what it sounds like, and that was my first guess. However, it makes the exact same sound when standing still in Park in the garage and then applying the brake. There's no compression of suspension involved in that test at all. (Plus, I can push up an down on the left front...

    Front Brake Creaks! (Not squeaks)

Guys, My left front brake creaks! Not squeaks, but creaks like an old worn out wooden rocking chair! That’s the best description of the sound that I can provide. The car does not even have to be moving to check this. Just sit at idle in park and press the brakes on and off, and creak –...

How do you perform a compression check??

juiced_94gt, If you're looking to do some general troubleshooting to find out what might be wrong, then running a cylinder balance test is a much better option than just doing a compression check. The car's computer will run a cylinder balance test for you. It runs right after the KOEO...

Replacing the timing chain in a 95 5.0L

Slow04yellow, A couple of things for you: A). Forget about cranking the engine to get the crank bolt out… very dangerous. I’ve replaced my harmonic balancer twice on my auto tranny ’95. I use a very simple method of holding the flywheel in place so I can loosen the crank bolt. I just...

AODE TQ Converter going bad, I think?

94_302, I’ve been down this same path with the clutch plate surfaces in the lockup torque converter getting glazed and causing the shudder problem. Dr. Tranny’s Instant Shudder Fixx will cure it for a while, but eventually the clutch surfaces get so bad that you have to replace the torque...

    Plug Wires that Fit Right!?!

I've read a bunch of posts on plug wires and still have the same question: Does anybody make a set of plug wires for our cars that are pre-cut to the correct length for each wire and actually fit right using the factory wire looms? Thanks for any advice.

    PIP sensor signal wire?

Well... The PIP (Profile Ignition Pickup), also called distributor stator or Hall effects sensor is located inside and at the bottom of your distributor. Here's what my Chilton's manual says are the wires coming out of the distributor: Dk Grn - PIP Blk/Lt Blu - IND GRN Pnk - SPOUT...

    Tranny control module

chuck943, Thanks for the info on the TCSM. To your knowledge, does the TCSM have anything at all to do with shift control or shift points, or is that strickly a function of PCM programming?

    Tranny control module

You sure you are not thinking about the PCM (Powertrain Control Module)? That’s the main computer that controls both the engine and the transmission. It’s located behind the passenger side kick panel, below and to the right of the glovebox, just ahead of the passenger side door (at foot level).

    Damn cooling fan plug!!!

mustangsammym, I'm not sure if I completely understand what you did with a new harness, but there is one thing that you should be aware of. Ford issued a recall years ago on the cooling fan connector. If you do a search on this site for cooling fan connector recall, you should find lots...

    "low coolant"--> where's it going?

EXACTLY !!! Same thing on my car... finally found it! Our cars are notorious for developing a very slow leak on the passenger side of stock radiators, between the radiator core and the radiator end cap down low on that side. It’s hard to see, and hard to diagnose, since it it’s a very...

    Name my Tick

95strokerPSU, My bet is a bad valve lifter. Also, it’s much easier to test for noises using wood, really! I’ve done it a zillion times. A stethoscope or a length of rubber hose really does not work very well at all. (Sound travels much more efficiently through wood than it does air...

    Need help fast please

I don't know your experience level with this so excuse me if I am telling you something you already know. The only way to get the dizzy in right is to start with cylinder #1 at Top Dead Center on the power stroke (as opposed to TDC on the exhaust stroke). Then you've got to get the #1...
