I havent installed one on a 4.6 yet but im pretty sure its the same. Get under the front of the car and there should be an opening so you can get up inside the fender. Its a pita but thats how they have to be put on the 5 liters hope that works

I hope this helps for my 98 i put in an aftermarket deck and all amps work fine. I used the Scosche FDK10 premium sound car stereo connector and the Scosche FAI-3A car stereo 2/4 channel speaker level converter.

The hole right above the shifter was the factory cd player. I just made a plastic panel for that hole to cover it up it looks factory.

I connected it to the main brown wire that comes out of the center of the harness I hope that works its not dark enough to tell yet

The gauges came with an inverter and it has to wires to connect to the headlight power supply. A red for the positive and black for the negative. My question is where is the best spot to hook up the wires directly to the wires from the headlight switch? if so does anyone have a diagram of which...

i think and hope thats just a rumor because on all my cars i have ran autolite platinum and i have never had any problems thanks for the info though

If thats true why doesnt auto lite put that on the box instead of gap before installing?

I bought the autolite platinum 764 plugs and i noticed that ford used two different types of plugs on that year will this matter with the new plugs?

Thanks for the replies but i had no prob getting it out lol I have the write up on how to do it the switch itself came apart and the guts of it fell out now i was just trying to figure out how it goes back together

sorry if i confused anyone but when i removed the switch so i could get to the wires my switch came apart and the spring and a little ballbearing came out id prob be better off just getting another switch
