Y2k Cobra R Rims: Sell Or Keep?

Whoops, it probably would have been helpful to mention I sold the car, hahaha. I sold the car with the stock rims so the Cobra R's are in my garage.

Y2k Cobra R Rims: Sell Or Keep?

Hey guys, I have a beloved set of authentic FRPP 2000 CobraR rims in chrome. They're in nice shape, and I'd be a bit sad to part with them, but I also understand Ford doesn't make/sell them anymore so maybe there's a demand? I guess I'm trying to decide if it's worth it to sell or just keep...

good clutch for a 99 cobra manly street but little strip

I have a FRPP King Cobra and absolutely love it. Thing has lasted about 55,000 miles too. Granted I've never been to the strip, just Woodward International.

    Help!! Flooded underpass nightmare

Yeah it definitely was running poor from the low pressure, haha. Mity your car is freakin' gorgeous, great setup with that blue. -Chris

    King Cobra clutch lifespan?

Yeah it is mostly city driving. I few long trips out east but mostly around Detroit. Your comment about cutting the 100,000 in half with city driving makes me feel better. Any suggestions on a flywheel to go with a new King Cobra? I've always thought a slightly lighter one would be nice...

    King Cobra clutch lifespan?

Ok, I could count the hard launches on two hands. (Maybe three, hehe) Usually I take it easy off the line and hardly race, but I drive "swiftly" as most Cobra owners do I'm sure. What's the expected life of a stocker? -Chris

    King Cobra clutch lifespan?

I got 50,000 miles on my 2001 Cobra. The King Cobra has been in there since it was brand new. The car is in for service right now and collision repairs, and they called me this morning to say I need a new clutch and resurface the flywheel I believe. 750 bucks. I don't mind having the dealer do...

    Help!! Flooded underpass nightmare

Dorsai that's classic, I can just picture the temper tantrum. I also restarted the car a few times on the way up the onramp, must have just been enough in there. -Chris

    Help!! Flooded underpass nightmare

A solution! Well I just went over to the dealership and chatted with the techs. You won't believe this... actually... some of you will  It was the freaking inertia switch after all. They flipped it and she fired right up. Dean Sellers Ford is as baffled as I am that I had enough...

    Help!! Flooded underpass nightmare

Nope, no water in the interior. The surprise and excitement of getting hit made me fail to even accurately guess how deep the water was, but as I said before, no water crashing over the hood or anything. The car's been at the dealer since about 2 hours after the accident and it was pouring rain...

    Help!! Flooded underpass nightmare

I drove it a half mile and restarted a couple times in order to get to a safe spot, so I'm doubtful there was enough fuel in the lines to get me that far if indeed the intertia switch tripped. The engine didn't make any strange/bad noises when running or trying to restart it, so I'm optimistic...

    Help!! Flooded underpass nightmare

The collision wasn't bad enough to make it "not the same again" A front-ender would have me concerned. I'm pretty doubtful the engine has water in it, it cranked freely when I tried and ran for a bit afterwards, so i'm sure a few drops or whatever would've burned off while I limped if off the...

    Help!! Flooded underpass nightmare

Well I went to the dealership this morning to see if it would start and begin the process of getting everything fixed. It won't start, just cranks like it's out of gas. I'm just praying I don't need a whole new motor. I also thought about the inertia switch when I finally got it safely off...

    Help!! Flooded underpass nightmare

I've got a 2001 Cobra with a wrecked back end and an engine that won't start. Here's the story: My buddy calls me at about 11pm to tell me his keys are locked in his car in downtown Detroit and will I come help him? Sure, so I gather up some tools, jump in the Cobra and start the 20 or so...

Anyone Know Where I can pick Up a 99-01 Cobra Front Bumper Cover?

Try bumpers.com. They're on eBay too. I live in Detroit and went to their warehouse to get a rear bumper for my 2001 Cobra and they were real nice, honest folks. I did the pick up to avoid shipping costs but I think it's fairly reasonable. Check it out. -Chris

When do you know your shocks / struts need to be replaced?

As far as knowing when to replace them, if you live in Michigan, you'll need to do it every 75-100 miles. :rlaugh: -Chris

    Clutch cable install

Just installed a new clutch cable in my '01 Cobra. I've got a King Cobra clutch and it was engaging too close to the floor, almost impossible to get in gear, so I assumed the cable had stretched a bit from the heavier clutch, which has been in the car since new, almost 50,000 miles ago. I...

    2002 Australian Cobra on eBay

I just saw this poking around on eBay, I'd never seen pictures of one besides Ford's promo picture. Check out the extra driving lights for spotting those kangaroos. :D...

    2001 cobra top end

I've had mine up to 140, and it was still pullin when I let off, so I'd guess 150-155 is totally reasonable. It's hairy up there, you want a perfect stretch of fairly fresh pavement and no traffic, but I wouldn't really urge anyone to do it in a stang. Years back I would've done it just to tell...
