    Under hood Temps........Help

The cowl is a high pressure area. That is why they use it as a cold air inlet for cowl induction hoods and your vent system. At speed you will not really get any advantage to having the hood open in that high pressure region as it will be holding the hot air in. At low speeds you may get an...

    Why not a Richmond?

I really wanted a Richmond 6 speed but my reason for not using it was the shifter options. The shifter just will not work with the stock center console. That is the reason I will not be using it. I have chosen to go down the rebuilt t-5 path using g-force upgrade parts which will be able to...

Carb Problems Again - Boy Can I use Some Help

If you do have rubber line make sure that you replace it with new Fuel approved lines. The old lines can flake off pieces of rubber and get lodged into the needle and seat. The goal here is to get everything after the new filter spotless and absolutely free of debris. As far a rebuilding the...

Carb Problems Again - Boy Can I use Some Help

I had the same problems that you are having… New tank and pickup. New fuel filter Carb would still flood. Basically the Carb needle and seat would get hung open and dump fuel when the car was running. Steps to resolve the issue: 1. Purchase a filter to be inserted between the fuel pump (I...

    check 'er out...

Safety First off, the car looks great! Nice Job! My only suggestion to you is do some work on the breaking system. Get rid of the “Jelly Jar” Master cylinder and at least upgrade to the dual reservoir master cylinder for safety sake. Gotta be able to reign in all those newly found...

Bad Knock...Ohhh how much will this cost?

My recommendation is to first drain the oil and look for metal shavings. From what you describe you are most likely going to see some. It sounds like you have a spun bearing in one of your rods. The easiest way to confirm is to yank the oil pan off and try to move the bearing caps. Most...

    The SN65 project car

Front Valance Question Hi Bob, First off… Incredible car! No other words. Second, I apologize if you covered this previously and I missed it in the 29 previous pages of this post but I have some questions on your modifications to the front valance. Mainly I am curious what you...

    Battery in the trunk?

Suggestion, move your starter solenoid to the trunk along with the battery. Way the solenoid is connected to the battery with a short cable and the long cable running the length of the car is not energized until you engage the starter. Much safer. Cheers, Rufus.

Group buy: Mustang Steve 13" cobra brakes.

I agree! Not necessarily because I can get them cheaper...I am using the Mach 1 calipers as I do not want to have the cobra lettering on mine. I already purchased them as well ;-) Cheers, Rufus.

Megasquirt - build your own EFI system.

Hey 70, No offence but I am not sure that you are “entirely” correct in your thoughts regarding the MS II Vs the ultramegasquirt. Eventually there will be a UMS but it will most likely be an entirely different animal from what has been planned in the past. I believe the UMS will be more of...

Megasquirt - build your own EFI system.

Things are a little in flux at the moment. There are 3 CPU’s in circulation (will be in the next couple of days) There are 3 Circuit boards in circulation. I would recommend that you read the following post for the full story. http://msefi.com/viewtopic.php?t=8789 In about a week...

    EFI benefits with Carb appearance?

"IMHO if you are going to be spending money on an EFI system the stock ford MAF EFI is a better system that the aftermarket SD or more primitive systems. Not to mention parts availabilty." Ahhh. The miss informed. :-)

    Desiel mustang?

Well. The thought had crossed my mind. Just for the mileage but given the proper persuasion a Diesel can create a TON of HP and a GARGANTUAN amount of torque. A good candidate would be a Cummins 4BT. It is a 4 cyl that could be had in 300 HP / 400 Ft/lb trim from the factory. You can just...

Megasquirt - build your own EFI system.

No worries 70…send all the PM’s you like. The MegaManual is a great document and well worth the read. :-) The approach that you are taking is probably the easiest route to take. Separate the complexity of trying to tune fuel and spark at the same time. That can get confusing given all...

Megasquirt - build your own EFI system.

I run one, Awesome product! I will never go back to a stock ECU. It is quite easy to tune and went together without a single hitch. The tuning software is very mature and quite user friendly so I am a little confused at your comments Guddyup306. It almost sounds like the users you are...

    Which coil to buy?

As long as you are not running super high compression (over 11.5:1), un-natural aspiration, or nitrous … ANY coil that is appropriate to your current setup will work. You just need to get the fire lit and the only reason to go with a super hot coil is if you are running some type of difficult...

    EFI or no?

Well…my personal opinion pretty much matches the posters above. Drivability is key here. If you drive your car for any significant amount of time you will love the EFI. A carb just cannot beat the “hands off” abilities of the EFI system. A carb can make just as much power as EFI but the EFI...
