    Detroit Area Mustang guys

Michigan weather has been nice lately Unfortunately I've been out the mustang scene for years, having sold my 93' back in 2005. I've been helping a couple buddies work on their fox bodies in the mean time and have been lurking on the forums every week. Now that I finally finished my second...

lOOKING FOR SOME INSIGHT ON MY COMBO

Just wanted to know the situation you were in. I would go and try the stock cam, maybe with just a set of roller rockers --1.7's. I have seen cars similar to your setup make great power with a good custom tune, 11 seconds no problem. I wasn't trying to be an a$$hole, it just kind of turned...

Can I use the rockers and push rods from my stock E7 heads on my GT40's?

:stupid: 1.6's are stock. They both should go in no problem, but to double check i would call Ford Racing @ (586) 468-1356 M-F 10a-6p Eastern time.

    Help needed!!!!! prz 93 Lx

Just wait and keep the money in the bank. Something will turn up soon enough. Most likely you will need to upgrade fuel components, ignition, and/or a custom tune. If all works out and you need to buy nothing. I would go with a good set of drag radials, a gear, and a clutch.

    Where is the computer?

To make it 100% clear, right-side kick panel = passenger side, door side, behind plastic where your feet go. Good luck.

    input on this cam

Yeah, my stage 1 trickflow is no better than my B303, however I never got a retune after install. Custom grind is the way to go from others experience. Federal Mogul or Speed Pro is not of the best quality, I used to sell them when I managed an auto parts store. They are more of a stock upgrade...

    home made ram air

I have seen guys at the track take out the headlight and run a straight pvc tube to the opening. Unless you run no air filter, like these guys, you wont see any difference.

lOOKING FOR SOME INSIGHT ON MY COMBO

yyyyyeaaaaah. FLAMMED->FLAMED You need to explain your combo better to get any feedback, like what s/c you are using, if any? It's also not very clear on what you want answered, you want... numbers? Maybe try reposting when the smoke clears and just maybe you will get some insight from...

Any recommended tuning shops in michigan?

Yes Yes, Crane is an excellent shop, I have not heard anything bad about them. They have done my 93 lx and many others. They are also a good value, not to high priced. :nice:

Any recommended tuning shops in michigan?

Mi Native I live in metro detroit and have had my car tuned at Alternative Auto. The owner Lidio, is very good at what he does and can be found in mustang mags all the time. He personally doesn't own a dyno but uses one locally. He also has a laptop setup and does full driveability test and...

    Pushrod length checker question

Buy the 6.125 to 7.5 one, it applies to all small block ford v-8's. I have one myself and is very useful. After you find the length you need, buy a set of hardened ones, especially if you gave guideplates.

GURU'S:How much Rear Wheel Horse Power

a lot That looks to me like a 280 HP setup and on N20 it should be at about 390 HP. This should be pretty close if using a mustang dynometer and the timing and plugs are correctly adjusted for N20. Good Luck with the numbers.

    1.7 roller rockers

Correct :nice: It depends especially on your cam and heads. You dont know until you do the install and check lash, preload, and make adjustments. Proper length can be found by the use of an adjustable pushrod tool, works wonders and cuts out the guessing.

KYB AGX Adjustable Springs / Struts

the softest setting possible in the front is ideal for launching, i have these on my 93 and they suck compared to others. the front struts are more for road racing not drag. I cant really seem to find the "soft" setting.

    Custom Cam vs. TFS1

Advance it? My current setup is identical to Rock777 and I put my TFS cam in straight up which resulted in a slight power loss from a B303. Would it be optimal Advance it 4 degrees?

anyone running a base DSS 306? (any DSS owners come in)

Dss? I too have a pro bullet dss 306 -- with tfs heads, intake, cam. It makes 312 horse at the wheels. But mine is from about 5 years ago and still runs strong. One thing is, forget about the tfs cam and get a B303 or E303, TRUST ME I lost 15 horse with the tfs cam from a B303 :bang: . You...

    cats smoking, what gives?

YeaH Sounds like your car is running rich or one of your cylinders is missing. Extra fuel can get caught up in the cats and burn up sometimes causing smoke or the cat to get red hot. Or it just happens to be that the cat is clogged and over heating. Either way it will probably need to be...

    Stock vs 1.72 rockers AGAIN

I wonder Most likely the problem lies in the valvetrain geometry, in other words the pusrods are the wrong length and shimming is not going to fix it. I have 1.72's on mine and used to run a B303 w/ 480 lift then i installed a TFS stage1 with 499/510 lift. I was able to keep my pushrods(not...
