Spent 3 hours trying to figure out converting my jelly jar M/C to a dual reservoir M/C on my a-code '65 disc/drum

Used the '66 mounts, need to fabricate a trans mount, I guess I need to find a different yoke, but I hope I don't have to shorten the driveshaft.

Found a toploader from a '69 Boss tribute, shifter location same as '65¿

$1400 with Hurst shifter, about 1000 miles on it, guy swapped out for a Tremec so he can go lower gear in the rear.

Anyone going to the 49th Tulsa Shelby Meet this week? (Anyone starting to plan for the 50th next year?)

Well, it wasn't like I remembered for 20+ years ago. They used to start at 8-9am, this year (last year was the first time change) it started at 2pm. Its hot at 2pm, it was real low turnout because they do a cruise in the morning, like 50 miles? The dragstrip is after the cruise, most of...

    Water Pump Backing Plate

So the timing chain 'cover' is part of the block. That plate is both the timing chain cover and backing plate for the water pump. I was curious of the condition of the water side of the plate (where the word plate is written), the back side sees oil off the timing chain. If it were my car...

    Water Pump Backing Plate

If its not loose anywhere I'd think you'd be okay. Is the surface pitted? A pic would help.

So confirming what I need to do to put a '88 CV 302/AOD in my '65 A-code.

Very nice!!! So I'm on a self imposed deadline to get this thing running, driving, starting and stipping safely enough to take it to Hallett road course and Tulsa's dragstrip next year for the 50th Shelby meet. Many Mustang parts places are no longer around and its been 30+ years since I...

Anyone going to the 49th Tulsa Shelby Meet this week? (Anyone starting to plan for the 50th next year?)

Going to head over early Saturday to Tulsa Raceway Park (dragstrip), event starts tomorrow (actually I think tonight) with 2 days at Hallett Motorsports Park (I've never been there), then the drags Saturday followed by a car show Sunday. I'm hoping to get a bunch of friends locally to go next year.

So confirming what I need to do to put a '88 CV 302/AOD in my '65 A-code.

I have spare classic timing covers so the dipstick shouldn't be a problem. However I likely don't have a fuel pump eccentric on the '88 302, so a blockoff would be required. If I still owned a toploader you can bet it would go in, but they're so expensive. I'm thinking a T5 at least. The...

So confirming what I need to do to put a '88 CV 302/AOD in my '65 A-code.

I'm not quite sure if I want to mess with the factory Ford EFI. If I had pulled it out it would be one thing, but since its parts and pieces I got from various sources, not sure if I want to go down that rabbit hole. Ultimately I'd like to go Holley EFI of some sort, just so I don't have to...

So confirming what I need to do to put a '88 CV 302/AOD in my '65 A-code.

The engine and trans were pulled as a unit and never separated, just not sure if that linkage or cable is there. Was dodging tornados and hail last night so I didn't feel like going out to look.

So confirming what I need to do to put a '88 CV 302/AOD in my '65 A-code.

30+ years ago I pulled the 289 out of my '65 and took it apart (don't remember why) and traded the 3 speed for future machine work. I had bought a race 289 and had a Boss 351 Toploader that never ended up in the car. I purchased the aforementioned combo from a friend a year ago to put in the...

Spent 3 hours trying to figure out converting my jelly jar M/C to a dual reservoir M/C on my a-code '65 disc/drum

I've got some tree piles, neighbor will come over to cut firewood and I'll delimb the cedars and give the trunks to another neighbor. Then I'll rent a chipper to mulch the rest.

Spent 3 hours trying to figure out converting my jelly jar M/C to a dual reservoir M/C on my a-code '65 disc/drum

Jimmy Christmas, I just think I'll never get back onto this project. Was thinking I was so close to getting the shop build started last year, finally tomorrow a guy is coming out to remove trees and the root balls. My company got bought out last year, knew it was coming about 6 months before...

73 F100 Project - What Ive been up to

So I built it as a truck I'd seen in the high school parking lot from the middle school playground as a kid growing up in the 70's in Northwest Oklahoma (1985 graduate). Half the kids lived on farms and drove hand me down trucks, 95% 2wd longbed regular cab Ford or Chevy's, there were a few...

Picked up a Northern Aluminum radiator with shroud and Spal fan for $225 today...

The guy had it in a sweet red '67 Fairlane 289 car, he'd upgraded to a 347 stroker and this wasn't keeping up. I'm putting a '88 LTD motor in so it'll have the late 302 water pump with the passenger lower side outlet so this will be perfect.
