    New Wheels!

That's what I was going for with these. They're not an exact replica of the 65-66 Shelby Cragars but I think they favor them a lot. Obviously, it's not a real Shelby so I'm not trying to pull off an exact replica or anything. Thanks everybody for the kind words.

    New Wheels!

I figure everybody likes to see new wheels. I sold my Coys C-55's earlier this year and just got these put on. They're Cragar Eliminator 500's, 17x7 front and rear. Tires are 225/45 front and 235/45 rear. I'm extremely happy with how they turned out!

    Fix tire rub

I had the same problem that I didn't notice with my old 14x7's, but it really showed when I upgraded to 17x8's. It turned out that the bushings in my front spring eyes weren't centered side-to-side in the spring eye which was shifting my springs and, effictively, the rear axle to one side of...

    65 mustang polished tailpipes

They come out below the valance. I don't think Flowmaster makes a kit like that where they come through the valance like a GT. If you want them through the valance I'd just have tail pipes fabbed locally and find some short exhaust tips that you like. That's all that's going to show through...

    65 mustang polished tailpipes

I agree the Flowmaster American Thunder Kit is probably your best bet for something off the shelf. It's available in 2.25" or 2.5". I have the 2.5" kit on my 65 and really like the look. Here's a search from Summit: 1965 - MUSTANG - FORD - Flowmaster - Exhaust Systems & Kits - Exhaust -...

    Engine mounts '65 -> '66 replace problem

Those frame mounts aren't symetrical, they're offset. I think if they're installed correctly they're offset to the rear of the car. Could it be possible that you have the driver and passenger side frame mounts flip-flopped thus shifting the engine forward? Just a guess???

    65' Stang with a 68' Shelby Hood

There's one on ebay right now. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1966-mustang-restomod-/120734786138?pt=US_Cars_Trucks&hash=item1c1c5aa25a#v4-39 I like it for something different on a restomodded car. I think it would look a bit out of place on an otherwise stock-looking car.

    T 5 Vibration

I'm in the middle of a T-5 conversion myself and was just reading this week about the use of centering dowels in the flywheel for positioning the pressure plate. I found quite a few posts where people that didn't use the dowels ended up having vibration issues. Some posted back that installing...

    Recover seats myself?

You can do the seats yourself. It is time consuming but very doable by even a novice. A local upholstery shop wanted to charge me an insane amount of money to install the covers so I tried it myself. I think I used this article as a guide Upholstery Tech - CJ Pony Parts, Inc. I'm sure...

size of 65/66 deck lid compared to 67/68

Here's a thread where the guy put 67 wheelhouses on his 65 fastback. You might contact him and get some ideas. http://www.stangnet.com/mustang-forums/656858-1965-fastback-project.html I think you'll pull your hair out trying to make the 67 deck lid look like anything on a 66. The rear...

New Hood Hinges Stiff As Crap---HELP!!!

I had a similar problem with new hinges on my 65 mustang. When the hinges were new, they were so tight that the hood would stay up without the springs installed. Once I installed the springs there was no way I was going to get the hood closed. I just took off the springs and ran it without...

    68 Mustang fastback 18" wheels

You're thinking backwards on the backspacing. Backspacing is measured from the mounting face of the wheel to the backside of the rim. If you put a half inch spacer behind a wheel with 4 inch backspacing, you have effectively reduced the backspacing to 3.5". The greater the backspace, the...

    New Wheels w/ pics

Thanks, deltascrew! I think I asked you about your wheel/tire setup in a thread a while back. Thanks for your input. It was a toss up between the C-5's and the C-55's, but I finally settled on the C-55's. Couldn't beat the price either, $1000 for wheels and tires including shipping. Now...

    New Wheels w/ pics

Hey guys, I finally got new wheels for my 65 so I thought I'd post some pics. I know how much everybody likes posts with pictures. Here they are: Coys C-55's Front: 17x7, 4.25" BS, 215/45/17 Hankook Rear: 17x8, 4.75" BS, 245/45/17 Hankook

    rim fitment question 17x9.5 275/40/17

I just ordered a set of Coys C-55's for my '65. If I didn't know better I'd say that was a picture of the Coys wheel. They look identical...right down to the oval indent in the center cap for the logo. Makes me wonder if they're off the same mold and just being sold under two different...

Deep Dish bullitts on a 65...how??

Deltascrew, Just out of curiousity, was it your rim width and backspacing that required you to trim the fender lip or was it your tire size? What size tires are you running on the rear? The car in that ebay add looked like it was running a pretty narrow tire compared to the width of the...

Keep My 65 Or Go Late Model

Thanks guys for your input. That's some good food for thought. Let me expand a little on my original post. In an effort to keep it as short as possible I left out a few details that might be worth factoring in. My 65 is not my daily driver and the '07 wouldn't be either. I've still got...

Keep My 65 Or Go Late Model

Hey Guys, I'm looking for opinions/input. While I have an appreciation for all Mustangs, I've always been partial to the classic Mustings over the later models. However, I love the new ones and I've been confronted with a tempting opportunity to aquire a wrecked '07 Mustang GT Calfornia...
