Normal Operating Temp For 2003 Sohc Gt?

OK, it's been a few years since I posted. I did a search on this and didn't find much so I figured I'd turn to StangNet. I'm monitoring water temp in the block, just above the header on the driver's side with an AutoMeter electronic gauge. What would be considered to be a "normal" range...

Cracked Intake - WITH Aluminum Crossover

I'm currently on the road. I saved both gaskets and the intake just in case . . . when I get home, I'll take some pics and post them up here. I don't see how over tightening the thermo housing could crack this place in the manifold. Pics will help to describe. Yeah, I had coolant in a...

Cracked Intake - WITH Aluminum Crossover

um-k . . . I guess I'm the only one then huh . . . does anyone else want to see a pic of a cracked mustang manifold? One would think that is fairly common . . .

Cracked Intake - WITH Aluminum Crossover

Yep, you read that right . . . mine is a 2003 with the "fixed" design intake manifold - you know the fix . . . the one that prevents it from cracking . . . yeah, OK. I pulled it off tonight and it is cracked on the side with the thermostat housing. Specifically, the aluminum crossover bolts...

    P.O.S Plastic Lower Cracked OPTIONS?

OK, I have the stock manifold WITH the aluminum crossover and mine is leaking coolant at the junction of the crossover and the manifold directly under the thermostat housing . . . :( Is this covered in the 7 year warranty? If so, has anyone else experienced this?

Anyone from MSD like to chime in?

    MSD coils

Um-k . . . so, you're telling me that MSD threw down money so they could affect the outcome of the dyno results reported by 5.0 mag then . . . If that's the case, then why didn't their DIS-4 box produce similar hp/$ results in the very same article? btw . . . mama always told me "if it looks...

BFGoodrich G-Force T/A KDW Feedback Please

Interesting, I just did a post on this in Talk . . . Clicky I did notice that the Nittos I replaced my BFGs with didn't look quite as wide on the rear as what I took off . . . interesting that this is pointed out in this thread. The BFGs are certainly noisy tires on the highway. But, IMO...

    MSD coils

Subscribing . . . KT - IF they're such a waste of money, then why did 5.0 Mustang mag get roughly 40 hp from bolting them on? I read that article and just couldn't believe my eyes. I called the folks at MSD, and they support those claims. Lots of forum "info" that these coils are made...

    Nitto 555s

Hey stangers, Haven't been by the forum in a long time as my Olds' has been consuming all my time. Anyway, just an FYI . . . my trusty BFG G-Force KDWs (the dry pavement tires) were in dire need of replacement as they had belts showing on two of them. After looking high and low, the best...

Spark Plug Blew Out - Need Advice

Interesting how many 'stangers report this problem. It is obviously a design flaw on Ford's behalf. By not standing behind this, I wonder if Ford has considered the possibility of a class action lawsuit - this certainly has the makings for one.

    New Project

Update: Motor has about 1,300 miles on it and the rings seem to be seating nicely. I changed the pulleys so that the blower is now 6% underdriven. It makes 10 pounds of boost at WOT. It's . . . FAST! I haven't been to the track yet as I'm not ready to break it. Plus, it's getting hot...

    Drag radials

Well . . . I had a K&N filter, after cat and underdrives and bolted on a set of BFG DRs and snapped both axles on the third launch. This topic has been well covered on stangnet - I suggest you do a search on "drag radial" and see what others have to say . . . either way, bolt 'em on at your own...

Im getting pretty Dissapointed in my Stang

I can understand why you feel the way you do. I remember the first time I drove an '05 and had similar impressions of it's feel. Then I rented a Shelby GT-H and I remember thinking . . . man, if my 'stang started out like this think where it'd be now . . . I give Ford props on the new 'stang...

    New Project

The 'stang runs 12s and has plenty of power - but, the olds' has power like I've never felt under my foot . . . ever! I won't begin to guess at E.T.s, as I'm nowhere near ready to take this to the track. I'm bettin' it weighs closer to 3,000 pounds than it does to 3,500 pounds though . . .

    New Project

Been a long time since I dropped by . . . the 'stang hasn't changed - I've just been driving and enjoying it. Several months ago, I embarked on a new project - a 1972 Olds' Cutlass S. It's got a freshly built .030 over four bolt main 454 with TRW 8.5:1 blower pistons, GM Hi-Perf Rectangular...

    Got it today!

Interestingly enough, the guy I bought it from did OK. I get the impression that the original builder was the one that lost his butt on it . . . but you're right - this is the only way to buy a car like this. Heck, I've got nearly as much in mods in my 'stang as I paid for this! With any...

    Got it today!

As usual, a project like this gets deeper and deeper as you dig into it . . . many things to keep me busy getting it ready for the street. Good thing I'm off all week! Feels weird to have my 'stang in perfect working order while I chase down parts . . . !
