    Mustang II popularity

Ah don't let the know it alls get to ya. The II is just like any other Mustang, with it's strength's and weaknesses. The only thing is with a II getting direct fit parts is starting to get tough, yet you can get complete bolt in whatever for any other Mustang... But it was blessed with a...

    stock suspension MII = 1.44 60ft

So I took my car to Test n tune again last friday, and I managed to pull off a 1.44 60 ft time. My II has always hooked good, the only mod to the suspension is a set of south side machine lifts. This was on 8 inch slicks, 4.11 gears in an 8 inch rear. The only problem Is it's pulling the...

So, who's working on what these days?

It's been some time since I've posted on this forum, but I'm still hard at work plugging away. The II is in the heated garage all winter, today I changed the tubes to heavy racing tubes, the stuff you get in town isn't able to stand up. So I may actually start it tomorrow if it's nice out and...

    What's MII Trans worth?

I've got a spare transmission with bellhousing, torque converter, and spacer plate. I've got a local guy asking to buy it from me for his ranger pickup v8 conversion project. Anyone know what a fair asking price would be, I have no clue of what to ask for it.

Is TCI the only torque converter for a II?

With a no named converter my 60 ft times were in the high 1.5s. With my new one, high 1.4s with a best of 1.47 and usually around 1.50, and mph went up by about 1.5mph. Never tested with the TCI unit, I think I may have got a bad one because I could only foot brake it to about 1400rpm.

Is TCI the only torque converter for a II?

Most companies can make a special converter to your specs, for a little extra $$$. I've ran no name $120 converters in my II, a TCI unit ( really no different that stock) it all depends on how good of a converter you want. Currently I'm running an Edge converter Edge Racing Converters, More...

    04 gt misfire odd problem

I'm working on a friend's '04 gt, manual transmission, BBK headers, off road exhaust, and that's about it for any modifications. It's got a real strange problem. It develops a miss while driving. Not just a small miss, but it damn near sounds like a jake brake. It happens under somewhat of a...

    solid motor mounts..........?

I can see a motor plate needing a solid mount on the trans, because of the water passages, yet in the solid motor mount debate I stand firmly behind being able to safely use a rubber trans mount. So far in the past 6 years I haven't seen any ill side effects, neither has any of my car pals.

    solid motor mounts..........?

I've built my own, actually just the drivers side, since I tend to stretch out the factory ones. I built a jig off of a new stock drivers side mount, and then used that as a fixture for all my holes to line up perfectly to make the new one. The passanger side I've left alone for now, but my...

    Traction Bars

I got some old school SSM bars, some people like them, some think they're junk. I can't argue with 1.47 60 ft times on a street driven II. With the quick time tires, and a somewhat clean road, I can get it to hook like it does at the track. The suspension just flat out works, and I don't have...

    new rims and tires ordered

Well I broke down today, and figured that I better get things finished on my II so I can start on the drag car... that one is another story for another day. I went to jegs website and draglites were about 200 a pop for 14x7 5 lug rims for the back I thought man I could get them cheaper...

    Drivetrain Ordering New Axles

Total cost was 367.24, shipped to my door, with screw in studs installed. They fit like a glove. I did have some issues though. I went with the ranger drum, the center hub didn't quite fit, but some light honing with a break cylinder hone on the drum center hole and everything fit. The other...

    Drivetrain Ordering New Axles

I ordered mine as well, pretty much the only measurements they need once they knew it was a stock style 8 inch was drivers sice (C), Drivers Side (K), Passenger side (c), and Passenger side (k) They already know H, and other than that whatever bolt pattern you want.

    Drivetrain Ordering New Axles

Hmm... someone was lazy at work today then. I called them up and asked if they had the measurements on hand, and the guy said I'd have to measure it... I guess I'll have to call them on monday and see what the deal is .

    Drivetrain Ordering New Axles

If anyone needs any info, I'm ordering new Moser axles for my II, since after the last time at the track, I'm gonna have to go through some tough tech inspections for the first few races... So I thought I would pass this info along if anyone needs it! Matt

    V8 starters, revisited

it could be a manual transmission designed starter... I just ran into this on my engine stand. I built an engine for an '86 F150, it's 50 oz and I only had a 28 oz flexplate. I use an old FMX bellhousing on my stand, most everything fits inside it. The manual flywheel did turn over using...
