    What type of V6 would he like to put in it. I know a 3.8L, but from what year? If its the newer ones from 1994 and up, they'd be easy to find, but hard to install.     I have a 1986 Mustang, it reads 74xxx miles, but since it only has 5 slots for the mileage, how can I tell thats not 174xxx? The guy I got it from says it just 74xxx, but how can I be sure? So after it gets 99,999 miles, does it just roll over to 00001, which would be 100,001 miles? Thanks

    Probably your Alternater, are you using a audio system that you put in, it could be too powerful and drawing too much power. Especally if you have a Sub or Amp.

    Cruise Control

    He may not use it much, but If you paid for it, you still want to to work. My Stepdad had a Camry, bout it in 88 brand new, used the cruise control once in 97 and the thing never worked again.

    You really can't call him a newbie, he could work a Ford Motor factory and just have found this forum a week ago. Anyway, I would say its a waste of money, even if it doesn't make loud noises, it makes the car look a lot better.

    The dimming lights could be your battery. When did you last change your oil? What year is you car, by your info, you probably have an 1986 or below.
