I got an 86 Mustang V6 CFI It has a few problems starting up, but when It does start up, I let it warm up and it idles around 2100 RPM, I know thats too high right? If it starts to drop and you don't hit the gas it kills. Sometimes when it drops it automatically(I guess) revs up a little to stay started, but that usually isn't enough. When I put the car in Drive, it takes off and kills. It seems to not be getting enough gas, even though the tank has gas in it. If you hold the pedal while in park, most of the time, it will stay started, or sometimes the RPM's drop to almost 0 and starts gagging and goes back up enough to stay started. I really thing the problem is in the fuel system, it doesn't have a visible leak. I was told that it could be Fuel Pressure Regluator, or the Fuel Filter, or the Computer. Anyone ever had problems like this before. Im having someone look at it tommorow, but I also wanted to get a few opinions also. I we can't get it running, I guess I have it towed to a shop.
