its recommended against because you'll typically get more blow-by with synthetic. I personally run Mobil 1 full synthetic and don't have any problems with it. Although I guess driving like a granny might have something to do with it...

my gauges did that just before my battery went south. I took it in and had it tested and sure enough, the battery was about to take a dump on me.

I don't think people usually do it at all, but I just do it for good measure since I at one time had spony brakes. I was told awhile back that you were supposed to do it first if you did. Maybe I'm wrong....it wouldn't be the first time. haha

the biggest pain is removing the strut nut. Use an impact wrench if you can get your hands on one. Makes life much easier...

where did you get your new sensors from?

+1 Did you bleed the master? If not, bleed in the following order: mc, rr, lr, rf, lf. That should help...and be sure you don't let the cylinder run dry or else you'll go through the ABS stuff again.

The front and rear are different. Never swap them. The rears are just moniters not o2 sensors.

get an axle bearing puller from autozone along with a slide hammer. That will get them out quickly.

yeah I checked with their tech, but they said that I'm basically screwed since I don't have the X3 anymore and the backup file isn't the same. So thats why I'm hoping if someone can upload mine into theirs temporarily, email me my docs, and then put theirs back to normal.
