Spent all weekend destroying the garage and trying to put the car together, its the third motor to go in the car so hopefully third times a charm. Best head gaskets for boost on a stick motor
Best head gaskets for boost on a stock motor I've had some bad luck with head gaskets in my motor and was wondering what you guys thought were the best head gaskets to use on a stock motor with arp head bolts. My cd player doesnt work when the car is running?
I didn't get a chance to mess with it today but it does have the factory amp and my friend who put the cd player in did all kinds of wiring to either make the cd player work with the factory amp or bypass it, I'm not too sure. I would think it would be weird for the amp to not work when the car...- fivelitercoupe

Great information, cant wait to take a look at the wires and see what kind of voltage its getting. Its weird though when the car is running the cd player is actually working, it turns on but theres no sound, it runs through the songs but with no music if checking those things doesn't work then...- fivelitercoupe

My cd player and radio works just fine when the key is just on and the car isn't running but as soon as you start the car the cd player doesn't work. i figure its got to be something in the head unit or a short in it somewhere, I'm no wiring expert or stereo genius so I really don't know. I don't think I've posted my car on this thread yet. It's definitely not the nicest fox but i like it. The motors out being rebuilt at the moment but its still gonna be the same setup with a new 306 Completely stock motor on 9 pounds went 12.53 @ 115 with a 2.0 60 ft...- fivelitercoupe

Just Thought I'd share the car since its done...
Its actually got 3.55s now, i just never got around to putting them in till the last thing. It feels a lot better with the new gear and i'm lookin forward to seeing what difference it makes at the track.... The motors a 100% stock rebuild aside from the cobra intake and the trannys fairly...- fivelitercoupe

Paint for stock valve covers??
Id like to paint my stock valve covers cause there tired and ugly but most paints wont handle the heat, grease, etc. Does anybody know of an off the shelf paint that they've had any luck with or they know holds up. Please let me know, thanks for the help... Brett- fivelitercoupe

AOD Trouble
Yea the motor and tranny bolted together real easy which is why i thought it was right but i guess i gotta try spinnin it clockwise to make sure its all the way on there. Thanks guys and hopefully i can get his put back together and back in there today...- fivelitercoupe

AOD Trouble
I just got done putting my motor and tranny in my car and i go to drop the distributor in by turnin the motor over and its locked up. The motor and the tranny seperate each turn over just fine but with them bolted together they wont turn at all. My friend had this same problem and im not sure...- fivelitercoupe

i havent had a chance to run codes on it yet and i wish i still had the stock fpr but i cant seem to find it to throw it back on. I think the gauge is fine but when the fuel pressure drops that low the car barely runs or it'll die out when ur on the gas...- fivelitercoupe
