    06 GT no heat?

Alright I'm tired of listening to my wife moan about how her feet get cold in her 06 GT, because it has little to NO floor heat. I took it to the dealership and was told that they have had 7-8 05-06 GT's with the same issue, and Ford is telling them it's normal (wtf?):bs: . I had an 05 GT that...

    '06 gear questions

Hello, I'm thinking a steeper gearset may be in order, but have a few questions for those who have already done this swap. 1.) Are all 8.8 car gearsets interchangable dimensionally? 2.) Will my car need a custom tune or will just the speedo be affected?(I have a slightly taller tire on it...

Hope your fate is better then mine

I will definitely cross my fingers for you, it would be nice to see that there are still honest and fair dealerships out there. Best of luck! :nice:

Hope your fate is better then mine

Well Racer X, I'm right there with you, my family has bought 14 vehicles from our local dealership, and I too hit them up very early, and was supposed to be #1 on the list. Then they told me I had to pay 2k over sticker for the certification. That I was ok with. Then a week later, they told me...

    Dealer certification costs?

I am number 1 on the list for a 2007 GT500 at 2 different dealers, one is a full line SVT dealer so this wouldnt apply to them: but the other (probably the one I have a better shot at getting a car from, is a small dealer who said that the GT500 certification fee was 2000.00 and will be added to...

    Tree Sap Attack!!

I have used 3M wax and grease remover for years, it will not harm the paint and removes damn near anything that could stick to your finish. It WILL take off wax(duh!) so you will have to re-wax...wax on- wax off young grasshopper!

    adding redline water wetter

Foundry workers automotive science lesson for the day :D There is no such thing as a "freeze " plug in your engine block. those holes are there so that the sand core that the block is poured around, can be shaken out after casting. You are just as likely to crack a block at the back face, if...

    Whats in a name......

I own a 1970 Shelby GT500 (which if anyone remembers is just a '70 428 Mach 1, with body mods) so they can call the damn thing a Shelby "anything", and I'm O.K. with it. Is Carroll making BuKu bucks for lending his name to this thing? You bet! do I blame him? No way! Carroll is a shrewd...

Paintless Dent Repair and other stuff...

If these guys are reputable at all, you should have no problems. While we were at the 2003 Car Craft nationals in St. Paul MN., my buddy(who owns a near perfect '68 RS Camaro) had a small(quarter sized) dent removed from his front fender, right at the show. Even though it was partially hidden...

    Request Media Blasting Info

I use a plastic media blaster at work all the time, I can dial that thing in so precise that I can remove paint and leave the primer. Pressure is key. i just did the rear valance for my 72 mach 1, and had to keep the pressure at 38 lbs. to avoid bending it. However I have had best luck at...

Any deposits being taken on GT500??????????

I've already hounded my SVT dealer, and as of right now they were not taking any deposits, only compiling a pre-order list ( of which I am #1). so good luck with your dealer, and hang on to your cash (I got a feeling we're gonna need it  ) 05 Mustang GT 72 Mach 1 70 Shelby...

who has their battery in the trunk?

Easily done , but skip the kit. Go to walmart, buy a 5.00 battery box for a boat , bolt it in all 4 corners in the trunk. then take the money you saved a go to your local welding supply store and buy a 20 arc welding whip. This works great for acrrying the juice up front with little voltage drop.

    Anyone ever replace a roof???

Well, it can be done in the driveway provided you have a welder(and know how to use it) and remember to measure twice, cut once. I've done a 70 Torino Cobra, and the biggest thing I can tell you is: 1.) make sure car is on stands and LEVEL! Use 8 jackstands, and support off the frame...

what was the color scheme of 67 shelby motors???

I agree, mine is corporate blue, as are all others i've seen(lots). I believe, and someone can correct me if i'm wrong, that the only other color used was -black- for the dealer installed 427 motors, although i've seen a blue one also  Hard to go wrong with BLUE!! :D

    428 Cobra Jet stroker help

I agree with both the drill bit test and paying to have it sonic checked, but having had numerous FE's including 428's and having worked in a Core dept of a large foundry, I personally have NEVER seen a 428 last long past .060. The core shift on some of these motors( especially 68-70) is truly...

Classic car insurance, who has it and where to get some?

I,ve used Hagerty for years, and their policies are great for multiple car owners. News to me about the nitrous? My 70 has a 502 hp 428 w/200 hp of nos on top and they are covering me! The only thing i have noticed is that the horsepower/mods do make a difference in your premium. :notnice...

    05' GT wheel trade....Michigan

I,ve got the exact combo you need sitting in my garage. They have 80 miles on them. Problem is, I dont like the optional wheel at all! Solution? 1.) I could sell this set for 700.00 2.) I would trade this set for a new or excellent set of Magnums w/tires for my 72 mach 1. I live in...

    Removing tan/brown spots?

I did the prep on my 05 GT myself and used 3M wax and grease remover to remove the adhesive residue (also works great on tar and bugs, just remember to re-wax!). :D
