'04, '05-'06 GT - deciding between the two.

Again, get an '04 GT. You should be able to talk them down some and get it for less than $18k. I like the new V-6s but IMHO you will regret not getting a V-8.

    Mach 1

Thanks guys. It's such a fun car to drive it'll leave a smile on your face every time, as long as you remember to turn the traction control off! The engine is just soooo smooth. It "feels" more nose heavy than the '95, but has very little body roll.

'04, '05-'06 GT - deciding between the two.

Very true, but the '99-'04 GTs are no slouch either.

    Mach 1

Haven't posted much on here, but I've been real busy. Anyway, just picked up an '04 Mach 1. It doesn't quite have the 5.0's low end, but has great mid and upper rpm power. It's a lot of fun to drive and the shaker's cool too. The hardest part of coming to the decision to buy it was realizing...

'04, '05-'06 GT - deciding between the two.

2004 GT. Given a choice between a new V6 and an '04 GT, the V-8 wins hands down. I was looking at getting a new '06 GT but the price was a little higher than I wanted to pay. Luckily, an '04 Mach 1 showed up. Paid $21k for it and am having a blast with it.

clutch advice for a STOCK 95 GT

Don't go to the dealer for a clutch, you'll get raped. D&D has good prices, go to their website www.ddperformance.com or better yet call them (you can get their ph# on the website).

clutch advice for a STOCK 95 GT

IMHO for a daily driver nothing even comes close to the driveability and longevity of the stock clutch. If you go to an aftermarket unit, you'll be disappointed.

clutch advice for a STOCK 95 GT

I'd get a stock clutch. Make sure it's a Ford clutch, and not from Autozone, etc. D&D has real good prices. Also make sure to change the pilot bearing while you're at it, and the rear main seal if it's seeping any oil at all. BTW, the stock clutch is not a HD, king cobra or even a cobra. I...

    Think your smart?

The original question stated that the treadmill rotates exactly proportional to the speed of the wheels. It doesn't matter that airplanes get their forward motion from thrust, the treadmill's still going to turn. Again, no forward motion, no fly. Now, if the wings made their own relative wind...

    Think your smart?

I did not stay at a holiday inn express last night, but I am a pilot (helicopters, but the laws of aerodynamics still apply to airplanes). The original question stated that the conveyor belt would spin as fast as the wheels. Therefore, as others have said, no forward movement= no airflow over...

    Play in Steering Wheel?

I had the same problem. Have someone wiggle the steering wheel while checking the steering shaft u-joint, rag joint, inner tie rods, outer tie rods and rack and pinon bushings. Also, re-torque the steering shaft bolts. I did all the above and was still unable to isolate the source of the...

    Falken Tires, any good ?

The set I had on my '95 GT sucked big time. Very loud and had a vibration above 60mph. Had them rebalanced twice after the install, so I'm sure it was the tires. Grip was ok. Bought Continentals to replace them; much better tire for about the same price.

There's no slack in the cable. Guess it's new clutch time for me. Thanks Hissin50

The quad/pawl teeth seem ok. How do you suggest shimming the cable? Thanks.

    clutch problem

Hi all, first post. I recently picked up an '87 LX for cheap, but the clutch will not disengage. Before I go and replace it, I was looking for some other suggestions. The guy I bought it from said the clutch was replaced about a year and a half ago. After it sat for about two months, no worky. I...

    Melted headlight switch plug

Yeah, this is common on our cars. Ford dealers sell a replacement harness that includes the plug and thicker gage wiring. It seems that the wiring simply can't handle the current running to the switch. Put the replacement harness on and you won't have any more problems. Chuck
